If Sridevi was alive, her actor daughter Janhvi Kapoor says the duo would have convinced the world August 13 marks her 35th birthday. On Sunday, however, Janhvi noted the void her mother’s passing away has left her with and remembered the actor on her 60th birth anniversary with a heartfelt note on Instagram.
Janhvi posted a picture of Sridevi, sitting on her mother’s lap, on a film set. The image held a special significance for Janhvi, as she celebrated her mother’s birth anniversary on a film set, wishing if only she could recreate the same pose.
“Happy birthday Mumma. I know this was one of your favourite places to be, on a film set with your mumma. And today as I’m on a set on your birthday I wish more than ever I had you with me like this, so we could convince everyone it was actually your 35th and not 60th birthday.”

The actor also wrote that Sridevi would be happy to see how the daughters–her and Khushi–are trying hard to be better, attempting to making her proud always. Janhvi said Sridevi is the reason the family keeps going strong.
“And you could tell me if I’m myself pushing hard enough or not. And I could see in your eyes if I was making you proud. I know you’d be happy seeing us try, in your memory. Every day. I love you, you are the most special woman on this planet. And I know you’re with us still. You’re the reason we keep going ❤️ hope you’re having lots of payasam and ice creams and caramel custards today 💕,” her caption read.
Khushi also shared a throwback photo featuring her, Janhvi and Sridevi, with the late actor dressed in a blue saree while the duo is seen in pink dresses. “Happy Birthday Mama,” Khushi wrote and added a white heart emoji.
Sridevi’s producer husband Boney Kapoor also took to Instagram and posted a throwback image with her, writing, “Happy birthday”. He also posted a screenshot of Google doodle, which celebrated her legacy.
The tech giant credited the illustration to Mumbai-based guest artist Bhumika Mukherjee and features Sridevi dressed in the iconic blue saree from Mr India, with her her pose from “Mere haathon mein…” from Chandni. Two hands with lightning emojis also hint at her performance in Naagin where she made the same gesture.
Sridevi passed away in 2018. Her last full-fledged film was the 2018 thriller Mom, for which she won a National Award posthumously. The actor was then seen in a special appearance the same year in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero.
