Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes as well as his Red Devils teammate Jadon Sancho.

Sancho to PSG could be one to watch as the Daily Briefing have reported on the Ligue 1 giants being close to reaching an agreement on personal terms with the player, but he might not be the only Man Utd star on their radar this summer.

According to L’Equipe, PSG also have an interest in Fernandes, and it will certainly be interesting to see if the Portugal international ends up being a realistic target for the Ligue 1 giants.

One imagines United would be eager to keep Fernandes, far more so than Sancho, but every player has his price and the former Sporting Lisbon man is not getting any younger as he’ll turn 30 next season.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside about Fernandes earlier this summer, transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano admitted that he could be one to watch.

“The situation with Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United remains absolutely open in terms of contract talks. Man United are very happy with Fernandes as they told his agent a few weeks ago in an initial meeting to discuss the situation,” Romano said.

“Fernandes remains focused and committed to Manchester United – it’s true that his agent had some meetings with top clubs around Europe a few weeks ago to look at potential opportunities, but at the same time, Fernandes remains absolutely committed to United at the moment.

“A new deal is a possibility in case Bruno decides to stay at the club – this could be an option in the next months, but it’s not something guaranteed, or already being completed now. It’s still on standby.

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, who will next look to hold talks with the Red Devils later this week, according to the Daily Briefing.

Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund and looked back to his best in his second spell in German football, helping BVB reach the Champions League final.

It seems Sancho is now firmly on the radar of PSG, who have held talks with the player’s representatives and who will hope to negotiate with Man Utd next, though it could end up costing them as much as €50-60m.

The Daily Briefing report that United are now open to keeping Sancho, citing Erik ten Hag’s public comments about the England international, whom he’s praised as a fine player.

PSG won’t easily find anyone else who can replace Mbappe either, so it could end up being a smart move for them to try for someone like Sancho if he’s available for the right price.

The Daily Briefing claim that the Ligue 1 giants will try an opening offer of €40m for the 24-year-old, but that almost certainly won’t be enough, so it will be interesting to see if an agreement can be reached or if they move on to other targets.

One of the big stories of the day is with Riccardo Calafiori and Arsenal – the ‘here we go’ is coming because there is an agreement between Arsenal and Bologna on a €40m fixed fee, €5m in add-ons, and a sell-on clause for Bologna. Calafiori had already agreed a contract with Arsenal back in June, which would be until 2029, so everything is ready for him to go to Arsenal.

Calafiori has asked Bologna to be allowed to fulfil his dream and go to Arsenal, so it will be completed in the next days. The next key steps will be between Bologna and Basel to agree on payment terms for the 50% sell-on clause that Basel had for their former player. They’re set to receive a big amount of money, and so they now have to agree with Bologna now to structure this part of the deal, while Arsenal are just waiting.

Despite some reports that the deal had stalled, the reality is that the negotiations never stopped. It was not easy, but they kept going, and now there’s an agreement. Arsenal fans can be excited by this signing – I think he can do great in Premier League, he’s an excellent player, we saw that with his form in Serie A and with Italy at the Euros also.

Another story to watch at Arsenal is that Crystal Palace will bid for Emile Smith Rowe. Let’s see if Arsenal reject the bid, like they did with Fulham, or if they will be ready to negotiate. Still, Smith Rowe looks like being an interesting situation to watch in the next days.

Another Arsenal sale could be Eddie Nketiah, who has been attracting strong interest from Marseille since last week. Now it’s true that, as reported in France, Marseille have presented a proposal to Arsenal – there is still no agreement, but there is a negotiation ongoing between the two clubs.

There’s a chance for Jadon Sancho to stay at Manchester United – a lot will depend on the next weeks. Pre-season, feelings with the manager, performances…he has chances to stay. Interest from other clubs remains but there have been no official bids so far, so it’s still quiet. Sancho’s decision to clarify with Erik ten Hag also shows how they can be ready to continue together, but it depends on what happens in the next weeks.

There were reports yesterday about Mason Mount potentially leaving Manchester United. From what I’ve heard on the club and player side, however, is exactly the same, and that’s that Mount doesn’t want to leave Man United. He wants to do his best to show his skills at United after an unlucky first season with injuries. And United, from what I’m hearing, have no intention to sell Mount, so at the moment it’s absolutely under control and he’s set to be involved in the project of Erik ten Hag.

Meanwhile, Manuel Ugarte said yes to Manchester United a few days ago – they’ve reached an agreement with the player and his agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Leny Yoro. Ugarte wants to go to Man United and so now they’re negotiating with PSG – also because United know that PSG are advancing well in talks to sign a new midfielder – Joao Neves.

Paris Saint-Germain have presented an official offer to Benfica for Neves – around €70m, but Benfica want more. Still, they understand that they will not get the full €120m release clause for Neves – they always tried to ask for this clause and this is why a deal didn’t happen earlier, but they now know that Neves has agreed terms with PSG.

Neves is convinced by the PSG project under Luis Enrique, and Benfica also know that PSG will not pay the clause. For now, the €70m offer is not enough, but negotiations are ongoing, and so PSG look like they could sign Neves in the next days.

So, it could be one in and one out in the PSG midfield as Ugarte is an option for Man United. However, I don’t have any substantial update on Adrien Rabiot and Man United now, despite links. The player’s camp is talking to several clubs after leaving Juventus on a free transfer, but at the moment I’m not aware of anything imminent with Man United.

Dani Olmo clause expires – what next for Bayern and Barca target?

Dani Olmo’s €60m release clause at RB Leipzig will now expire. So what does it mean? At the time of writing no one has triggered the release clause – there was no last-minute deal, it’s not happening. The relationship between Olmo and Leipzig remains excellent, and the idea remains that if Leipzig receive good proposals, even after the release clause expired, Olmo can still leave the club.

This is the idea, though of course it’s more difficult without a release clause as negotiations will be needed between interested clubs and Leipzig. Still, there is room for things to happen, even if there is nothing currently going on with Chelsea and Manchester City, despite rumours. Man City appreciate the player, but any reports of them working on the deal are fake news, they’ve not been working on the deal. Chelsea, meanwhile, believe they are already well covered with left-footed attacking players.

Still, there is interest from other Premier League clubs, so it could be an interesting situation to watch, let’s see if they will move in the next few days or weeks. Meanwhile, as I’ve previously reported, Olmo remains an option for Bayern Munich in case their deal for Xavi Simons collapses. Olmo is still on Bayern’s list, so let’s see what happens with Simons, as Olmo is still an option for Bayern.

This is nothing new – Olmo has been on Bayern’s list since May, with Max Eberl, former director at Leipzig, knowing the player very well. Barcelona also appreciate Olmo and have a good relationship with his agents, because he shares agents with Mikayil Faye, so they had the opportunity to ask about his situation. Still, for Barca, the priority is Nico Williams.

Let’s see what happens with Williams, but he’s the obsession of Barcelona right now. Negotiations are ongoing on the player side, and then let’s see what Barca decide to do with him or with Olmo eventually, but at the moment there’s still no bid.

Alphonso Davies – Now Bayern are open to keeping Alphonso Davies and see what happens in contract talks, but if he doesn’t extend, Davies remains an option for Real Madrid in 2025, but Real Madrid were never gonna pay €50m or €60m for him when he’s just a year away from being a free agent.

Andriy Lunin – Much has been written about Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, and the reality is that he could leave Real Madrid this summer, but to name specific clubs we will have to wait for a few more days. As I said earlier in the week, Real Madrid have not received any approach for Lunin from Chelsea so far.

Julian Alvarez – Manchester City keep considering Julian Alvarez as a key player for them, so it would have to be a big proposal or there is no chance for all the clubs interested. There is no way for loan, I also saw that kind of reports. More talks between Julian’s camp and City in the next days will take place to discuss future steps.

Andreas Pereira – I don’t want to deny any colleague but I don’t have information on talks between Chelsea and Andreas Pereira, or Chelsea and Fulham so far, despite what has been reported in Brazil. Chelsea’s focus is on a right-footed winger, striker, and goalkeeper. On Pereira’s future in general, it will depend on opportunities and what kind of proposals he will receive.

It could be that things will become clearer in the weeks ahead, according to Romano, who says that Sancho’s decision to clarify things with Erik ten Hag also show that the England international could end up staying at the club after all.

Sancho spent last season completely out of favour with Ten Hag, before spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund, but the Red Devils manager has spoken publicly to suggest that the issues between himself and the player are now in the past.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag has opened the door for Jadon Sancho to work his way into his plans at Old Trafford for the upcoming season. 

Last season was a turbulent one for the duo as they had a massive falling out at the beginning of the campaign. Ten Hag left the winger out of his squad for a trip to Arsenal and stated that it was a result of the Englishman’s training standards.

Sancho would respond by essentially calling his manager a liar, which the Dutch coach demanded an apology for.

That never came, which led to the 24-year-old being banned from first-team activities at the Manchester club until the January transfer window, when the winger would go out on loan to Borussia Dortmund.

The United star performed well in Germany and is now back at Old Trafford, with many fans of the Premier League giants expecting Sanhco to be sold this summer before the transfer window opened.

However, it looks like there is a possibility of the Englishman staying as he is believed to have made up with Ten Hag and the 54-year-old has opened up the door for the player to work his way into his plans for the upcoming campaign.

Juventus are ready to accept a £21m offer from Leicester City for talented winger Matias Soule and the Serie A giants plan to use that money to sign Man United’s Jadon Sancho. 

The Foxes have submitted a £21m proposal for the Argentine winger and sources have told CaughtOffside that Juventus are ready to accept that offer and allow Soule to move to the Premier League.

Personal terms have already been agreed between Leicester and the player with the 21-year-old set to receive a contract at the King Power Stadium until 2028/29.

The winger is believed to fancy a move to the 2016 Premier League champions and has rejected offers from Napoli, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Brentford to do so.

Steve Cooper will be delighted to have such a talented player join his ranks ahead of the new season and from Juventus’ point of view, this is the first step in their plan to sign Jadon Sancho from Man United.

The Italian club plan to use the £21m to lure the English talent to Turin but will have to wait until Soule’s sale is official.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has dropped a major clue over the future of Jadon Sancho as he now appears ready to move on from last season’s falling out and include the England international as part of his plans moving forward.

At one point it looked highly unlikely that Sancho would play for Man Utd again as he was notably criticised by Ten Hag when he was left out of the matchday squad to play Arsenal away from home early on last season.

Sancho himself seemed to hit back at Ten Hag with a statement on social media, and this later resulted in him being axed from the squad completely, and moving out on loan to Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.

From there, Sancho’s form improved a lot, with the 24-year-old helping Dortmund to a hugely impressive run to the final of the Champions League, where the Bundesliga giants were beaten by Real Madrid.

Still, Ten Hag will surely have seen enough in that run to convince him that it might be worth giving Sancho another chance at United, and it now seems that’s what’s happening.

Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester United training after face to face talks with Erik ten Hag, with the pair both agreeing to move on following their disagreement last season.

United signed Sancho from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund for £73m in 2021, but he hasn’t played for the club since last August.

The winger was exiled from the first team after refusing to apologise for taking to social media to claim he was being made a scape goat following criticism from Ten Hag over his training.

Sancho back in United training

The 24-year-old returned to Dortmund on loan in January and had a positive spell which culminated in the Champions League final at Wembley, but unfortunately for Sancho the Bundesliga outfit lost 2-0 to Real Madrid.

United were believed to have made Sancho available for £40m and he had reportedly been attracting interest from the likes of Juventus and Dortmund who were keen to make his loan permanent.

However, in a turn of events Sancho and Ten Hag appear to have resolved their issues with United confirming that the Englishman had returned to pre-season training.

“Jadon Sancho returned for testing on Wednesday following his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season,” they said on their website.

“The 24-year-old forward then trained with the group on Thursday.”

It’s been reported that Sancho won’t be part of the squad which heads to Norway to play Rosenberg on Monday due to returning to training later than other members of the squad, but he will be available for the rest of the pre-season games.
