Liverpool are not expected to make a move for Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo in the coming weeks despite recent reports linking the Premier League giants to the Japanese talent.

Japanese outlet Sports Nippon claimed that Liverpool had agreed a deal to sign the 23-year-old for a fee in the region of £50m, but that is not believed to be the case according to transfer expert Matteo Moretto.

The Merseyside club were linked to Kubo back in January but Moretto states that this latest story is just an old one being dug up again.

The transfer journalist is not aware of anything imminent between the Merseyside club and the Real Sociedad winger and nothing should be expected between the parties throughout the rest of the transfer window as things stand.

Kubo has been with the La Liga club since 2022 and has impressed many during his time in San Sebastián.

With Mohamed Salah having turned 32 this summer, Liverpool will be on the lookout for his replacement in the future and that may lead them to Kubo. However, the Japanese star is likely to be playing his football with Sociedad this season, where he has a contract until 2029.

Nothing concrete between Liverpool and Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo

Writing in his latest exclusive column for CaughtOffside’s The Daily Briefing, Moretto addressed the latest links between the Merseyside club and the Japanese international, playing down the Premier League club’s links to the winger.

“Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo was linked with Liverpool during the winter transfer window, and this week fresh reports have emerged about Liverpool potentially activating his €60m release clause,” the transfer expert said.

“My information on this is that there is nothing concrete in the works, and I’m not aware of any talks with him over a move either.

“It’s an old topic that has come up again, and from what I’ve been told, in recent hours, and in recent days, we should not expect anything imminent for Kubo.”

Mohamed Salah is not leaving Liverpool this summer but the Reds are still planning for life without him.

The Egyptian has been linked with a move away from the club over the last year and with him entering the final year of his contract at Anfield, his future remains uncertain at the club.

The right-winger has helped the Reds win the Premier League and the Champions League under the leadership of former manager Jurgen Klopp.

With his long term future uncertain at Liverpool, the Reds are making a plan to sign his replacement.

Takefusa Kubo, a right winger for Real Sociedad, may be on Liverpool’s radar, according to the Japanese publication Sports Nippon.

Since January, Kubo has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Although there was talk that he would be Jurgen Klopp’s final signing for the Reds, the Japanese international kept up his impressive form with the La Liga team.

Kubo has shown tremendous potential since moving from Real Madrid to Real Sociedad in 2022.

Takefusa Kubo Liverpool
Takefusa Kubo to Liverpool?

He’s already established himself as one of La Liga’s top players at the age of 23.

The Japanese international is being pursued by Liverpool, who are planning to pay a transfer fee of about €65 million for him.

Additionally, they are prepared to pay the 23-year-old £240,000 a week in wages.

It clearly shows that the Reds are preparing for life without Salah who could be leaving the club next summer.

Liverpool will find it difficult to replace Mo Salah

Kubo is a player similar to Salah, a left -footed right-winger who likes to come inside and create opportunities and score goals.

Although Kubo has performed well in La Liga, he would need to improve his goal-scoring abilities in order to replace Salah.

The Sociedad winger’s seven goals from the previous campaign pale in comparison to Salah’s twenty-four goals for the Reds.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from La Liga and reports from Spain (h/t TEAMtalk) claim that Tottenham have now come forward with an official offer to sign the player.

Apparently, the North London club have submitted a €50 million offer for the player and it will be interesting to see if Real Sociedad are willing to accept it. The player has a €60 million release clause in his contract.

Kubo has been one of the best attacking midfielders in the league this past season and he will add some much-needed depth and cutting edge to the Tottenham attack. He is versatile enough to operate on either flank and he will add goals and creativity to the side. In addition to that, he is one of the best dribblers in the Spanish league and he will add some unpredictability to the Tottenham attack as well. He had seven goals and five assists to his name in all competitions this past season.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are keen on signing the player as well and it remains to be seen whether the West Midlands club can beat Tottenham to his signature. They have secured Champions League qualification for the next season and Unai Emery is looking to put together a talented squad.

Kubo could be tempted to join the Premier League

A move to the Premier League will be an exciting opportunity for the Japanese international and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Both Tottenham and Aston Villa could provide him with the platform to compete at a high level. The former Real Madrid Academy graduate has the potential to reach the top and joining a club in the Premier League could accelerate his development. He is likely to improve with coaching and experience.

It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa follow up on their interest with an official offer in the next few days. Spurs have already taken the first steps to sign the player and they might feel that they are in the driving seat having submitted a concrete offer.

Arsenal have reportedly made first contact over a potential transfer deal for Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo, who can move for a fee of €50million.

That’s according to a report from Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes, who suggest that the Gunners are keen to strengthen their attack with Kubo, who would also be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium, even if he’s happy where he is at the moment.

The report adds that initial talks have not gone anywhere concrete yet, but it seems the interest from Arsenal is clearly there, and one imagines there’d be plenty of fans who’d be keen to see the talented young Japan international head to the Emirates Stadium.

Kubo has long been highly regarded in the game, having had spells at both Barcelona and Real Madrid, and he’s really come to life this season at Sociedad, contributing seven goals and four assists in all competitions, still aged just 22.

Kubo transfer: Do Arsenal need the Sociedad winger?

Takefusa Kubo to Arsenal?

Arsenal surely need to think about strengthening their depth in attack this summer after a season in which they’ve looked almost flawless apart from having a player who can produce something out of nothing in attack.

While the likes of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard clearly all have their qualities, there have been times when opposition defences have done well to shut out the threat up front, with AFC perhaps particularly struggling once they got into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Kubo looks like he’d surely be a good option for the north London giants, but some fans might also want to see someone more experienced coming in, perhaps with the added bonus of having played in the Premier League as well.

Pedro Neto and Michael Olise have impressed in the English top flight and seem like players who’d make a good fit in Mikel Arteta’s side.

Tottenham are interested in signing the Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo at the end of the season.

According to Fichajes, they have already submitted a €50 million offer for the Japanese international and it remains to be seen whether the Spanish outfit are prepared to accept it.

Kubo has a €60 million release clause in his contract and Real Sociedad will not want to let him leave for a knockdown price. He has been one of their best players and his departure will weaken them in the attack.

The Japanese international is versatile enough to operate on both flanks and he has seven goals and four assists to his name in all competitions. The 22-year-old is likely to improve further with coaching and experience and he could develop into a key player for the North London club if they can secure his signature.

Takefusa Kubo would improve Tottenham

Spurs need more quality and depth in the final third and Kubo should prove to be a solid addition. He has shown his quality in the Spanish league consistently and he has the physical and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well.

Tottenham need more options in the wide areas and the 22 year-old would be a long-term investment. The north London outfit have been overly dependent on James Maddison and Son Heung-min this season. They need more quality if they want to secure Champions League qualification and compete for trophies.

Kubo has been linked with other English clubs as well and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat the competition and secure his signature this summer. Signing him for €50 million could represent a bargain in the long run. The player certainly has the potential to justify the investment in the coming seasons.

Real Madrid pose a threat to Arsenal and Newcastle United, who are prepared to pay Takefusa Kubo’s €60 million release clause.

Premier League teams Arsenal and Newcastle United are willing to spend €60 million for Takefusa Kubo, according to Fichajes.

A number of English teams are vying for the 22-year-old La Liga winger but they will have to contend with Real Madrid’s formidable challenge.

Having contributed four assists and six goals to Real Sociedad’s La Liga campaign this year, Kubo has been enjoying an incredible season.

The Japanese international is already being pursued by a few well-known teams, and it is inevitable that he will draw a lot of interest in his services.

Newcastle United, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City are among the teams interested in signing the talented young winger. The Gunners and the Magpies are willing to pay the €60 million release clause in the winger’s contract in the summer.

If any club triggers that clause, Real Sociedad won’t get in the way of him, and some English teams may view this as a kind of chance.

Kubo may consider waiting on teams like Arsenal and Newcastle as he is aware that his future may lay elsewhere, perhaps outside of La Liga. If Liverpool lose Mohamed Salah, they may also join the race.

As things stand, the 22-year-old winger, finds the Gunners considerably more appealing than a team like Newcastle, who have struggled this season.

The Premier League teams are all eager to recruit Kubo, but Real Madrid, the dominant team in La Liga, will pose a serious challenge to teams like Arsenal, Man United and Newcastle. The young winger is a former Madrid player, who have favourable clauses in the contract.

They can sign Kubo for half of his €60 million release clause, for example, and there are rumours that they have some sell-on clauses in place as well.

Therefore, Real Madrid may decide to re-sign the 22-year-old La Liga winger and then sell him for a profit if they decide to give other teams’ interest some real consideration.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are both interested in signing Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo.

According to Defensa Central, Premier League club Liverpool are ready to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the 22-year-old attacker.

After establishing himself as one of the best attackers in La Liga this season, Kubo has attracted interest from some of the top clubs. The Japanese international player has scored seven goals and provided four assists this season.

Liverpool will need a quality winger like him if Mohamed Salah decides to leave the club at the end of the season.

Kubo fulfills a similar role, adding goals and creativity on the flank. The prospect of a move to the Premier League could be quite tempting for most players and it will be interesting to see if the 22-year-old is open to a move.

Transitioning to Liverpool represents a significant boost in his career trajectory, offering an opportunity to demonstrate his abilities on the Premier League stage. With Liverpool’s support, he could continue to progress and realize his potential as a world-class talent in the years ahead.

The Japanese winger is currently under contract with Real Sociedad until the summer of 2029, making him a potentially costly acquisition. With a reported €60 million release clause in his contract, it remains uncertain whether Liverpool are willing to meet this price.

Liverpool have assembled a talented squad poised for a promising future. Integrating someone of Kubo’s caliber would undoubtedly enhance the club’s talent pool.

Possessing both technical prowess and physical prowess, the Japanese international has the potential to excel in the Premier League and could emerge as a pivotal player for the Merseyside team.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old is also garnering interest from Real Madrid, who seek to bolster their squad during the upcoming summer transfer window. With the anticipated free transfer of Kylian Mbappe, acquiring the Japanese winger would sort their attacking lineup for the foreseeable future.

Inside Spain is a weekly instalment brought to you by Football España, providing an insight into all of the major stories coming out of the rich and intense climes of La Liga and beyond. Warning: this article discusses a rape trial.

Ever get the feeling something is about to go your way, but you don’t want to jynx it or start your celebrating too soon? That feels like the atmosphere in the Spanish capital, after Paris Saint-Germain confirmed to the press that Kylian Mbappe would be leaving the club.

While it had been reported that he had decided to leave PSG several weeks ago, Mbappe telling Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he would not be extending his contract was the decisive step for Real Madrid to get involved. It’d be easy to think this is a done deal, and it almost certainly will, but the word is that only now will Florentino Perez make a formal offer.

Although they have been in touch in recent weeks, and no doubt figures have been mentioned, it appears negotiations have not taken place. Nevertheless, Aurelien Tchouameni said that Mbappe was a big topic in the dressing room, and internally they will be delighted – well, perhaps not everyone.

Meanwhile the Mbappe news has taken attention away from Barcelona’s managerial hunt. The sum of the past week is that as things stand, Hansi Flick and Brighton’s Roberto de Zerbi are the top two candidates, with Thomas Tuchel perhaps a wildcard option if he leaves Bayern Munich, in every sense of the world. De Zerbi is well-liked, but his release clause (rumoured to be between €12-15m) is a major obstacle for Barcelona, leaving Flick at the top of the leaderboard.

There is plenty of uncertainty at Can Barca though, with both Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo set for contract talks in the coming months. If they do not agree to extend, both could be in the shop window this summer.

Elsewhere, it might have been heartbreak in Paris on Valentine’s Day for Real Sociedad, but the good news is that Takefusa Kubo has renewed his deal until 2029, after interest from Saudi Arabia and Liverpool in January. Romance wasn’t dead everywhere though, as Memphis Depay gave one of his teammates a giant ring on the same day.

Rayo Vallecano sacked Francisco to bring in ex-Andoni Iraola assistant Inigo Perez. He was due to head to Bournemouth with Iraola, but was denied a work permit due to changes in the Brexit laws. Oh, and Almeria still have not won a game after 24 matchdays, grazing the bar in the last minute against Athletic Club on Monday at 0-0 – water remains wet.

Manchester City have reportedly included Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo on their transfer shortlist.

Kubo, 22, who joined Sociedad from Real Madrid 18 months ago, is enjoying an excellent campaign. Registering a goal or an assist every other game for Imanol Alguacil’s side, the Japan international has become a hugely important player in his team’s quest for European qualification.

However, with such impressive performances inevitably bringing high-profile, and unwanted, attention, Sociedad, according to Fichajes, would be wise to prepare for some summer approaches.

Pep Guardiola is believed to hold a firm interest in the 22-year-old winger but signing him, even with City’s vast wealth, could prove difficult.

And that is because the player’s former club Real Madrid inserted a buy-back option into his contract when he signed for their domestic rivals in 2022.

Also, and perhaps most interestingly, although the Kawasaki-born attacker is available for £51 million (€60 million), Los Blancos have a first-refusal option to re-sign him for just half that figure, and that will undoubtedly put them front of the queue come the end of the season.

Takefusa Kubo, a standout player for Real Sociedad, is wanted by Manchester United this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

One of La Liga’s top young wingers, the Japan international has impressed for Sociedad since leaving Real Madrid in 2022.

Kubo played 44 games in the previous season, tallying a remarkable nine goals and nine assists. With six goals and four assists in 25 games this season, he has continued to play at a high level.

The Red Devils have reportedly taken notice of his development and are considering signing him in the summer for his reported £51 million release clause.

Given that the 22-year-old is adamant about staying with the Basque team for the upcoming season, United will need to work hard to persuade him to split ways.

With just 13 goal contributions from 67 games, Antony has failed to establish his worth since joining the Red Devils from Ajax in a move costing £85 million in 2022.

In the same time frame, Kubo has managed to be involved in twice as many goal contributions (28), and should Antony go for the exit, the Red Devils may try to get his signature done.

In addition to playing on the right flank, Kubo can also play in the front two. Whether United can convince him to join them remains to be seen. Antony’s departure may possibly be a catalyst. In order to let Antony go, the Red Devils are demanding at least £50 million.

The Japanese winger is also being eyed by Liverpool according to latest reports. Jurgen Klopp sees him as a long term replacement of Mo Salah and the German manager has already made his wish known to the club’s board.
