Sarah Ferguson shares family heirloom she passed down to granddaughter Sienna

The duchess added the little one is now the "controller" of her grandmother and grandfather, Prince Andrew.

Sarah Ferguson, also known as Fergie, recently took on babysitting duties for her granddaughter Sienna while her daughter Princess Beatrice and son-in-law Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were away. On the latest episode of her podcast, Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah, she opened up about spending some cherished one-on-one time with the two-year-old.

“Beatrice and Edo are away so Gee Gee is in charge, and it’s really quite amusing. I wished for the time that Sienna would come in and say, ‘Gee Gee come and play,’ and now every minute of the day Sisi wants to come and play!” the 63-year-old told her co-host Sarah Thomson.

The Duchess of York jokingly mentioned that one must be careful of what they wish for. “Because now you can’t even have a moment to sort of do anything without this wonderful little girl, who is so sweet, pulling at my skirt, jumping into my Ugg boots and then making me go outside in the pouring rain and jump in puddles in the pouring rain — which is fine, I love it,” she said, earning a laugh from Thomson.

Further during the conversation, Fergie shared that Seinna likes to play Thomas and Tank Engine and directs her to act as the animated train. Notably, the game involves creating a “train station” in the sitting room of the Royal lodge with tiny chairs that once belonged to her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

“I have to be in the front, then she puts little tiny chairs because we have Beatrice and Eugenie’s chairs from when they were little, and they are little stools with Beatrix Potter on. I got them out of storage especially to turn a part of the rather beautiful huge sitting room at Royal Lodge [into] a train station,” she revealed.

The duchess added the little one is now the “controller” of her grandmother and grandfather, Prince Andrew. “When I am following her, it looks just like Beatrice… it’s taken me right back to following Beatrice around. It’s literally mini-me. We’ve had an extraordinary time, I’m very glad that Beatrice and Edo got some time alone as well, so it’s been extraordinary to be Gee Gee,” she shared.
