Aston Villa have taken things up a notch in terms of kit reveal videos, after having rock god, Ozzy Osbourne, appear in theirs for the 2024/25 home kit debut.

Villa legends Paul McGrath and Gabby Agbonlahor make an appearance as do Unai Emery and some of his current staff, but it’s Osbourne that steals the show.

Aston Villa step up their pursuit of promotion to the Premier League on Saturday as they face West Bromwich Albion in the first leg of their Championship playoffs semi-final tie.

Villa will be desperate to bounce back from the heartbreak of losing in the Playoffs final last year, as their brilliant form to end the season has brought them back into contention this time round.

Dean Smith is the man in charge responsible for getting them back up to the top flight, but they face rivals West Brom for a place at Wembley with either Leeds United or Derby County emerging from the other semi-final.

As noted in his tweet below, Villa legend Paul McGrath has delivered a classy rallying cry on the eve of the first leg at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, insisting that he’s proud of the current crop for what they’ve done to this point this season.

Naturally though, there will be huge disappointment if Villa fall short, and so they will have to use last season’s experience as motivation to avoid a similar setback this time round.

Failure to gain promotion for another year could have major repercussions for the club, as ultimately question marks would be raised over their ability to keep their top players including the likes of Jack Grealish and loanees Tyrone Mings and Tammy Abraham.

However, that won’t be a concern in the more immediate future, as they will be fully focused on getting the job done this weekend and securing an advantage heading into the second leg at the Hawthorns on Tuesday night.

Liverpool welcome the Red Devils to Anfield at the weekend, in a crucial match for both sides in the race to finish in the UEFA Champions League places.

United have looked unconvincing for the large parts of the season, but were able to produce arguably their best performance of the campaign in the 3-0 win against Tottenham last Sunday to give them a much needed boost ahead of a tough set of fixtures.

Despite games against Chelsea and Manchester City looming on the horizon, McGrath, who won the FA Cup with United in 1985, is confident that Louis van Gaal’s side will be able to fend off the challenge from their fierce rivals:

“Liverpool are the only team who can do a bit of damage to Manchester United. I don’t see it happening now though.” he told TalkSport (via Mail Sport)

“United are clicking into gear at the right time and are relaxed in the way they’re playing their football.” he added.

Falcao has looked a shadow of the player many regarded as the best striker in the world..

Former Man United player Paul McGrath has said that it is quite evident to see that Radamel Falcao isn’t happy at the club following his reaction to being taken off against Preston North End.

With the game going away from Man United as they conceded a goal early in the second half, Louis van Gaal decided to act immediately and take off the ineffective Falcao for Ashley Young, putting Maroune Fellaini up front.

Falcao was visibly baffled (video below) by the decision and even squinted when looking at the board in disbelief that his number was up when his team essentially needed goals, McGrath feels that was telling.

“Radamel Falcao is not getting the sort of service he would at other clubs he’s played for,” McGrath told talkSPORT.

“He goes on runs and the ball just doesn’t come to him or it comes to him too quickly and it runs through to the goalkeeper. He thrives on little things on the box and even those things aren’t coming off for him at the moment.

“It’s certainly not working out for him. You can see his reaction when he got bought off last night, he’s not happy at the club.”

On current form, it is hard to see how Man United will activate the buy-option inserted in Falcao’s loan with the forward available for a permanent transfer for around £45m.
