Brighton and Hove Albion have rightly been lauded for their transfer business over the past few seasons.

Though the Seagulls have still sold on some of their best players, they’ve done so at a huge profit which has allowed them to strengthen elsewhere.

Developing young players has become their forte, and that perhaps explains why the Premier League outfit have agreed a deal for Gothenburg’s 18-year-old player Malick Junior Yalcouye.

Brighton agree deal for Malick Junior Yalcouye

CaughtOffside sources with knowledge of the deal recognised that both Bayern Munich and Manchester United were two of the first teams to be monitoring the player’s movements, though an official offer from the two European giants wasn’t forthcoming.

Similarly, Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven registered an interest but nothing more.

Gent, Ajax and Brentford’s interest in Malick Junior Yalcouye was more concrete, but all three have been beaten to the punch by Brighton.

Brighton will sign Malick Junior Yalcouye

It’s understood that the club will pay €10m for his services, and he will be offered a five-year contract.

Brighton directors had been impressed by the Ivory Coast player’s abilities but were waiting for a new coach to be unveiled before making their move.

With Fabian Hurzeler having been secured as Roberto De Zerbi’s replacement, the young German is readying himself for his first pre-season in English football, and he’ll now be able to call upon the services of Malick Junior Yalcouye as needed.

It remains an exciting time for a club that continue to exceed all expectations, and it will be interesting to see if the Hurzeler experiment is as successful as those of Graham Potter and De Zerbi.

Brighton are among several Premier League clubs who have started talks to sign IFK Goteborg’s 18-year-old wonderkid Malick Junior Yalcouye during this summer’s transfer window.

The youngster has been attracting interest from across Europe ever since moving to the Swedish club this year and many are prepared to make a move for the midfielder during the summer.

Sources have told CaughtOffside that Southampton and Brighton have made a €6m offer to IFK Goteborg for Yalcouye, but the Swedish club are holding out for €7m for the Malian star.

Brentford, Gent, Ajax, Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven are also interested in the player with the Belgian club another to have made an opening offer.

That is believed to have been around €5m, which was also rejected by Goteborg.

The race for Yalcouye is still very much an open one and if the transfer fee is only €7m, then it is only a matter of time before an agreement is reached with one of the interested parties.

Who is IFK Goteborg’s 18-year-old wonderkid Malick Junior Yalcouye?

Malick Junior Yalcouye is an 18-year-old midfielder currently playing with Swedish club IFK Goteborg. The youngster only joined the Allsvenskan team from Ivory Coast outfit ASEC Mimosas this year and has already attracted interest due to his impressive performances.

The Goteborg star is a box-to-box midfielder, who is full of energy and a very prolific ball-winner. The youngster combines this with his dribbling and passing abilities, which makes him an attractive profile for English clubs.

Yalcouye has been compared to Chelsea star Moises Caicedo, a player Brighton know well, so it is not a surprise to see the Seagulls in the race for the 18-year-old.

As of this moment, it would appear that Brighton and Hove Albion are waiting to unveil Fabian Hurzeler as their new manager before getting down to business in the transfer market.

One player that the club have their eye on according to CaughtOffside sources is Gothenburg’s 18-year-old box-to-box midfield player, Malick Junior Yalcouye.

Brighton need to be quick for Malick Junior Yalcouye

Brighton directors have apparently been impressed by the 18-year-old Ivory Coast player’s abilities and could be ready to make their move shortly.

The Swedish club are believed to be entertaining offers of €8m-€10m euros for the player, with Belgian club, Gent, having already made a bid of €5m which was rejected out of hand by Gothenburg.

The Seagulls will need to have their wits about them if they’re set on landing a player that looks to be a rising star, as Premier League rivals, Man United and Brentford, have also registered an interest.

German giants, Bayern Munich, as well as PSV Eindhoven, Anderlecht, and Ajax are in the background ready to compete for the player’s signature, adding more elements to whether Brighton’s pursuit will be successful or not.

Transfermarkt only value the player at €700,000, with him having made 15 appearances in all competitions for his current side.

The sheer number of clubs interested looks to be what’s driving up the price, so there may well be room for negotiation when executives are sat around the negotiating table.

With just one game left of the Premier League season, the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool will soon be over, and Arne Slot will be parachuted in to hopefully begin a new cycle of success at Anfield.

Fans of the Merseyside club that have become used to the success that the effervescent German has brought them over the past few seasons might just have to accept the club going back to the drawing board as Slot and his backroom staff attempt to implement a new way of working.

After all, it took Klopp himself a few years to get things how he wanted at the club, so, working on the same basis, Liverpool supporters might be able to consider themselves lucky if the Reds win anything in the first couple of seasons of Slot’s reign.

It’s how his team does on the pitch which will ultimately endear him to the Anfield faithful, or not, and, therefore, the transfer strategy this summer has to be spot on.

According to CaughtOffside sources with knowledge of Liverpool’s transfer aspirations once Klopp departs, the Reds are likely to continue to monitor IFK Gothenburg’s 18-year-old player, Malick Junior Yalcouye.

Brentford and other Premier League clubs are also believed to have watched some of the Ivorian midfielder’s matches, though WhoScored note he’s made just three senior appearances this season, accumulating 162 minutes, for the Swedish giants.

Gent, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are also apparently ready to compete with those Premier League clubs in order to sign the youngster.

With plenty of time before a decision needs to be made one way or the other, any of the interested parties can continue to keep their ear to the ground for updates on Yalcouye’s progress.

Available for a reported €8m-€10m fee, he will also be well within the reach of most clubs.
