The situation remains open for Jhon Duran, who could still leave this summer.

Aston Villa always wanted £40m, they rejected different approaches from Chelsea in June and from West Ham in the recent weeks.

Their request remains clear, at least £40m or the player is not leaving. Let’s see what West Ham decide to do now.

The Hammers have also been linked with Alexander Sorloth but I don’t have concrete updates on that situation.

I can say that Villarreal, when Roma asked for Sorloth recently, always replied: release clause or nothing.

€38m, this is the value of the clause and what Villarreal want for Sorloth.

Barca want quick resolution to Nico Williams deal

Barcelona really want to be fast on the Nico Williams deal. They know that Premier League clubs could return for the Spanish winger after the fantastic Euros campaign that he had with Spain.

They know about Chelsea’s interest and they know about Arsenal’s interest, but Barça want to be faster on the player side. This will be the mission for this week.

They will not bid for other players because the full focus of their budget is on Nico Williams. The confidence of the Barça board, Barça manager Hansi Flick and all the people at the club is growing.

Barcelona will make a contract proposal to Nico Williams. They know this is crucial to agree on the salary and all the details of the deal need to have the green light from the player. This is the crucial step.

Barça want to make it happen and then get the green light from La Liga for Financial Fair Play.

They already had more contacts with the agents of the player, and will push in the next days as they want to agree this week on personal terms, the structure of the salary and the bonuses into the salary.

Osimhen move will see Lukaku head to Napoli

There is still interest, a lot of interest in Victor Osimhen, because the agreement between Napoli and the player is for him to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

We know about the interest of Chelsea but we always said that the only way for Chelsea to go for Victor Osimhen is in case the package is reduced; meaning salary, meaning commission, meaning also transparency as Chelsea will not pay €120m.

The agent of Victor Osimhen is in contact with Paris Saint-Germain and he’s been a target of theirs for a long time.

But it will only be a concrete possibility if PSG manage to sell a striker in the summer transfer window, either Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani.

Saudi was already a really concrete possibility but it didn’t happen before because Napoli said no. This summer it’s different, and so Saudi could still be a solution for Victor Osimhen.

An important point to note is that in case Osimhen agrees to move in the summer window, the top target for Napoli remains Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku has always been excited about the possibility of being reunited with Antonio Conte, his favourite manager by far, and Napoli want the same.

The situation is quiet regarding Harry Maguire now, no changes.

Maguire remains happy at Man United, and they’re not desperate to sell him. If a good proposal arrives, he could leave in case he wants to.

If West Ham can get things right in the summer transfer window for Julen Lopetegui, there’s no telling just how successful the 2023/24 season will be for the Hammers.

They’d shown resilience in the face of adversity under David Moyes, and the epic Europa Conference League final win was the highlight of the Scot’s time at the club.

However, if they want to progress, then the West Ham board need to back the new manager to the hilt.

We already know what happened at Wolves once Lopetegui felt that he didn’t have the right support from the board of the club.

West Ham could bid for Duran and Sorloth

A couple of players that it had been suggested that the East Londoners would be interested in are likely to cost over £70m in a joint swoop according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

“The situation remains open for Jhon Duran, who could still leave this summer,” he said to CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing.

“Aston Villa always wanted £40m, they rejected different approaches from Chelsea in June and from West Ham in the recent weeks.

“€38m, this is the value of the clause and what Villarreal want for Sorloth.”

Landing both Duran and Sorloth in the same window would certainly increase West Ham’s chances of finishing towards the top of the Premier League in 2024/25.

Both are hugely talented in their respective roles. Sorloth is more of an old school centre-forward, whilst Duran would also want to show Unai Emery what he’d be missing up front.

Time will tell if West Ham make their move for either striker again.

If there’s one thing that Unai Emery would seem to demand of any team he manages, it’s that of the total commitment to the cause that he himself displays.

The Spaniard is renowned for being meticulous in his preparation, but if he is to succeed, then all of his players need to buy into his way or working.

One player that is understood not to be working too well with Emery at present is exciting Colombian striker, Jhon Duran.

According to Ben Jacobs, speaking to Give Me Sport, there’s every chance that the player could leave in this window.

“Villa have been very firm on their asking price, and that might be because they wanted to invest some of the Duran money into a player in a different position – for example, Amadou Onana,” he said.

“But one thing is clear that as much as Villa thinking Duran is a top footballer, they are prepared to let him go, because they don’t necessarily think that he is on the same page as Unai Emery with his pathway at the football club.

“He’s looking for more imminent and instant game time, and Unai Emery wants a slightly slower pathway progression, so the player is keen on going elsewhere.”

Both Chelsea and West Ham United are rumoured to be interested in signing the player this summer, and if he’s unable to rectify his way of working with the manager, then it would seem that Duran will be sent packing from Villa Park.

West Ham United have already completed three signings in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers are looking to overhaul their squad this summer under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Defender Max Kilman, winger Max Guilherme and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham have already arrived at the London Stadium with more fresh faces to follow soon.

Now they are looking to sign an attacker this summer as they want a new player to lead their attack after struggling with Michail Antonio upfront.

Journalist Manuele Baiocchini of Sky claims that West Ham United are very close to signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.

“The player is talking to West Ham and also seemed to be very close to the Hammers, but we had an indiscretion about AC Milan, who might reconsider,” Baiocchini said, via Radio Rossonera.

The 20-year-old Aston Villa attacker scored only five Premier League goals last season in 23 appearances for the Midlands club, who qualified for the Champions League by finishing in fourth position in the league.

As their recruitment emphasis shifts to a new striker, West Ham have shown interest in Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.

Following their transfer business, West Ham have made it clear that they intend to strengthen their team under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

With Max Kilman already at the club after joining last week, the emphasis appears to be on finding a new striker, as the team was known to be prioritising acquisitions at both centre-back and up front.

Jhon Duran, who is only twenty years old, has already made it known that he wants to play regularly for the first team, something he feels is not possible at Villa Park.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the striker has given the green light to a move to West Ham.

The Hammers have added Wes Foderingham, Luis Guilherme and Kilman to their squad this summer already, addressing issues in three different positions.

Now they want a new attacker to lead their attack and add goals to the team.
