Man United agree terms with Ugarte, one more defender wanted

Manuel Ugarte
Manuel Ugarte

Man United have an agreement with Manuel Ugarte on personal terms, he wants the move. Now it depends on Man United and PSG to agree on the fee, while Casemiro or McTominay could leave the club with a good proposal.

What does it mean guys? It means that Manchester United after the centre-back, Leny Yoro, after the striker, Joshua Zirkzee, are also ready to work on the midfield.

The exit of Casemiro remains an important part of the story, but honestly guys, I can’t confirm anything regarding rumours that United are having trouble selling him, which could cause problems on Ugarte and so on, no.

Interest from Saudi in Casemiro remains but sometimes it just takes time to agree on contract, transfer fee and more.

United already have the green light for Manuel Ugarte as a potential new midfielder, the contract has been discussed and – this is an important detail – with the same agent who takes care of Leny Yoro, Jorge Mendes.

Jorge Mendes is still a very big name, obviously, in the market, and Manchester United also have a very good relationship with Paris Saint-Germain – another important point.

If PSG receive the right proposal this is a story that could be a concrete one in the next days, in the next few weeks.

Man United also won the race for Leny Yoro, one of the most talented defenders in the world, but it’s not over yet as United are working on the possibility to bring in another centre-back.

It will take probably some days to understand what’s going to happen with the outgoings and with the entire domino of the market for Manchester United, but keep an eye on that position because United could do something else.

They are in contact with Bayern for Matthijs de Ligt but they never agreed on the fee, they were in conversation. Jarrad Branthwaite is another player they appreciate but at the moment he’s considered too expensive.

Vitor Roque off to USA, Raphinha goes public and an important Nico Williams update

Vitor Roque and Raphinha
Vitor Roque and Raphinha

The current situation with Vitor Roque is that he’s expected to travel on FC Barcelona’s pre-season tour of the USA, then we will see what happens.

There are no talks ongoing now but we have to see what happens with Vitor based on Financial Fair Play too, it’s an open situation. This pre-season could be important for him, for sure.

Sticking with Barça, despite the rumours, I have zero information on contacts between Premier League clubs and Raphinha at the moment guys.

Also the player has gone public this week to confirm his plan to stay at Barça, so really quiet around Raphinha at the moment.

I’ve also had many questions on the situation of Nico Williams guys.

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, had a meeting with the agent of the player in Zaragoza, and they’re trying to be fast on agreeing personal terms with Nico Williams, because they believe that reaching an agreement with Nico on the project, on the salary, on the contract is important.

Barça know that Premier League clubs are coming. Barça know that big Premier League clubs are already trying to understand what’s going to happen and, maybe, they hope in England that things could collapse for Barcelona because of Financial Fair Play, so that they can enter the race.

We know about the interest of Chelsea and Arsenal who are keeping a close eye to the situation. He’s still very expensive for both clubs because the clause has to be paid in one solution; big commission, big salary.

This is why, for example, one month ago, Chelsea decided to go slower on the story of Nico Williams, but in case Barcelona don’t close the deal, Chelsea and Arsenal are attentive to the situation.

Adrien Rabiot wants Premier League move, many clubs interested

Adrien Rabiot
Adrien Rabiot

Since June, Rabiot was expected to leave Juventus and it’s now been confirmed.

Juventus offered €7m net per season for Rabiot but he didn’t want to accept, he wanted to try something different. So Rabiot communicated to Juventus that he was not going to stay, and Juve already decided to move on.

He has several possibilities around Europe and his mother Veronique spoke to 5/6 clubs in recent weeks, in several countries, and they’re keeping all the options open.

I don’t want to mention all the clubs because it’s a really long list and some of them are not even concrete at the moment… it’s just talks.

For sure, the dream of Adrien Rabiot is Premier League football, so that remains a possibility – to wait for a Premier League opportunity. Otherwise he has many offers, many opportunities on the table.

Adrien Rabiot is a free agent and so is obviously a big possibility, a big opportunity and this is why many clubs are enquiring about the situation.

But what I can guarantee to you today is that Adrien Rabiot is tempted by the Premier League. His dream is the Premier League. He believes that his skills are perfect for Premier League football.

He’s a wonderful midfielder but also physical and that could be a crucial factor, so let’s see if he gets the proposal he wants.

West Ham chasing Reiss Nelson but not “close” yet

West Ham have been busy in the current transfer window and are still working as usual on several deals, including for a new striker and one more centre back.

It’s not “close” yet but for sure Reiss Nelson is expected to leave Arsenal this summer and he’s one of the names on West Ham’s list. They like him, but nothing is imminent yet as still at initial stages.

No change on Virgil van Dijk’s situation

Lots of rumours surrounding Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk, but as we already mentioned here the day after his recent statement guys, so far the situation is quiet.

Liverpool have not received any proposal, Virgil is on holiday, so again it’s quiet around van Dijk and Liverpool are waiting for him to come back from his holidays.

Man United have received a big blow to their transfer window plans as Saudi Arabia have cooled their interest in the Premier League club’s veteran star Casemiro.

According to Sky Sports, Saudi clubs are reconsidering making a move for the former Real Madrid star despite the midfielder being a top target for several clubs in the Middle East ahead of the current transfer window.

ESPN carried the story that talks already took place between the representatives of the Brazil international and Saudi clubs as Man United are keen to move the 32-year-old on this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr were said to be one of the teams at the front of the queue for his signature, but that now looks uncertain.

Man United are said to be looking for £30m to part ways with Casemiro, an asking price Saudi clubs are not willing to meet, reports GOAL. It looks like the Manchester club could struggle to sell the 32-year-old ahead of the new season, which would be a big blow to their transfer plans.

Will Casemiro leave Man United?
Will Casemiro leave Man United?

Man United need to sell Casemiro this summer

Man United must sell Casemiro this summer as any fee they receive for the midfielder can be put towards new signings. More importantly, they will get the Brazilain’s massive £350k-a-week wages off their books, which is far too much to be paying for what the former Real Madrid star currently offers.

The 32-year-old had an awful campaign last time around and looked like a player who has passed his best.

According to Sky Sports, Erik ten Hag is interested in bringing PSG’s Manuel Ugarte to Old Trafford this summer as the Dutch coach wants to add a new midfielder to his squad and that is a deal that cannot be done without the sale of Casemiro.

It would be a big blow to the Red Devils’ plans if they can’t move the veteran star on, however, there is still a long way to go before the transfer window shuts.

Paris Saint-Germain’s excellent Uruguayan midfielder, Manuel Ugarte, remains a key signing for Manchester United this summer.

CaughtOffside sources with knowledge of the latest developments understand, however, that until Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro, is sold, there simply isn’t enough room in the budget.

Despite the reported interest of Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr and Al-Qadsiah, the Red Devils are having trouble moving Casemiro on.

Man United struggling to sell Casemiro

Al-Ittihad are also known to have received information from the 32-year-old Brazilian player’s agents, but there’s no confirmation as to whether they too will make an offer.

If none of the supposed interested parties can stump up the Red Devils apparent £35m asking price, Man United will have to keep the player as they can’t afford to terminate his contract.

In so doing, they would have to award him an eight-figure payoff as he still has two years to run on his current United deal.

Man United are struggling to Casemiro, which means they can't yet go after Manuel Ugarte
Man United are struggling to Casemiro, which means they can’t yet go after Manuel Ugarte

Sources at the club reveal Casemiro’s representatives are in regular contact with those clubs in the Saudi Pro League, as they are likely to be the only ones willing to match the salary that the Brazilian currently enjoys at United – £350,000 per week according to Capology.

It’s entirely possible that by the time a deal has been negotiated, if United can get one over the line, that Manuel Ugarte will have been snapped up by any other party that might be interested in his services.

The only possible way to get around the impasse if it continues, is for Man United to lower their asking price for Casemiro.

That would appear to be something that the Red Devils aren’t willing to do at this juncture, so it leaves them in an awkward position on both fronts.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 32-year-old defensive midfielder has not been his best over the last 12 months and Manchester United would do well to find a quality alternative. Casemiro is in his 30s and he is unlikely to get better with time. The Red Devils should look to cash in on him and sign an upgrade.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad are prepared to provide him with an exit route and they have already started discussions to sign the midfielder this summer, as per L’Equipe.

The 75-cap Brazilian international has had an exceptional career, but he is on the decline. Manchester United need better players if they want to compete for major trophies on a consistent basis. They should look to invest in a quality defensive midfielder this summer.

Al-ittihad want to sign Casemiro.
Casemiro looks set to leave Manchester United

Casemiro should consider Saudi move

Meanwhile, a move to the Saudi Pro League could be ideal for Casemiro at this stage of his career. The lesser intensity would be a good fit for him and he would get to earn a substantial amount of money at this stage of his career as well.

It will be interesting to see if all parties can come to an agreement over the next few days.

Manchester United have been linked with defensive midfielders like Manuel Ugarte and it will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can bring him in as a replacement for the Brazilian international.

The former Real Madrid midfielder might not have been at his best in the Premier League last season, but he is certainly good enough for Saudi Arabian football and he could improve Al-ittihad immensely. Also, signing a decorated player like him would add greater global and commercial appeal to the league.

The future of Casemiro at Man United remains up in the air ahead of the 2024/25 campaign as clubs in Saudi Arabia remain interested in the Brazilian midfielder.

According to Fabrizio Romano, there is a strong chance that the midfielder will leave Old Trafford during the current transfer window as Man United are open to letting him go in order to bring in a new midfielder.

Casemiro was poor for the Manchester club last season and looked miles past the version seen at Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old is also the Premier League club’s highest earner, bringing in a massive £300k per week and the hierarchy at the English giants would love to get those off of their books as it would go a long way towards recruiting a younger midfield star.

Romano reports that Saudi Pro League clubs remain interested in Casemiro, however, no formal proposals have arrived for the veteran star.

Saudi teams are still in contact with the Brazilian’s representatives ahead of a potential move and it remains to be seen which one of them makes an official move for the Man United star over the coming weeks.

Will Casemiro leave Man United this summer?
Will Casemiro leave Man United this summer?

Has Casemiro been a success at Man United?

Casemiro arrived at Man United as part of a £70m deal with Real Madrid in 2022 and for the price the Premier League club paid for the Brazilian, his time at Old Trafford has not been a success.

Paying that transfer fee for a 30-year-old was crazy business from United as they were never going to get any value out of the deal. However, that was ignored during his first season as the midfielder was playing very well and contributed to a positive first year for Erik ten Hag at the Manchester club.

The 2023/24 campaign was a lot different as Casemiro showed his age and it looks like his legs have gone at the highest level of the sport.

Selling the 32-year-old is the right decision for United this summer and they will hope Saudi clubs are willing to pay big money to secure the services of the former Real Madrid star ahead of the upcoming campaign getting underway next month.

Former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva has stated that Manchester United’s Casemiro would be a good fit for the Gunners.

After another incredible season in North London showed Mikel Arteta’s side take a step in the right direction, although they were unable to reach their destination, fans will be keen to see more improvements to the club in the summer.

The Spanish manager has built an incredibly versatile and deep squad which has as of last season, shown that they can handle the incredibly dense fixture list.

But one area of the team which could use some improvement is the midfield, with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard still in need of another quality midfield partner.

Thomas Partey and Jorginho have done a great job but they could easily be upgraded if the club want to take that next step to overtake Manchester City next season with a left-sided eight as a priority signing.

With the Ghanaian midfielder also heavily linked away from the club, Gilberto Silva has been named a potential replacement from a Premier League rival.

‘It would be very interesting if Thomas Partey left the club.’ He told Bet365.

‘If that spot becomes available then it would be interesting to see Casemiro there, he would bring a very strong and stable option to their midfield.’

At the age of 32, the Brazilian’s form has dropped off significantly at Old Trafford with the former Real Madrid man forced to play as a makeshift centre-back in Erik ten Hag’s sides last season.

Casemiro could end up staying at Manchester United this summer because of how much it would cost to pay off his contract according to reports.

The Brazilian joined United from Real Madrid in 2022 and had a successful first campagin, but his performances came in for heavy criticism last season.

United are looking to sell a number of players this summer in order to raise their transfer budget, which according to some reports could be as little as £50m.

Casemiro could stay at United

The Red Devils biggest sellable assets are arguably Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood with United ideally wanting to move all three on, which is easier said than done.

Casemiro is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League, namely Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, but there has been no offers for the Brazil international.

United are believed to want £30m for the 32-year-old who has two years left on his deal with the club option of a further year.

Casemiro in action for Manchester United.
United could be facing a £25m pay-off for Casemiro.

However, The Sun report that Casemiro’s representatives are set to meet with Erik ten Hag next week about the midfielder’s future, which means United might have to fork out a large pay-off.

The Sun add the pay-off could be as much as £25m with Casemiro’s camp not prepared to accept a cut price pay-off, meaning there’s a chance he could stay at Old Trafford if an agreement can’t be reached.

Casemiro’s performances came under heavy criticism in the last campaign, particularly in the second half of the season when he had to fill in at centre back, and had a dreadful evening in the 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Both his fitness and his mentality have been questioned, with Jamie Carragher saying after that defeat to Palace that Casemiro needed to go to Saudi Arabia or the MLS.

United are yet to make any inroads in the transfer market but have identified Jarrad Branthwaite as their priority defensive target, whilst they also have interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, who Ten Hag managed whist he was Ajax.

Alexander Isak too expensive for Chelsea

We’ve had many rumours about Alexander Isak and Chelsea, with contacts taking place with Newcastle, and from what I’m told Chelsea are 100% aware of the situation with the Swedish striker – he is considered absolutely too expensive. We already know that Chelsea felt Nico Williams and Michael Olise were too expensive.

Newcastle would ask for crazy money for Isak, he has a long term contract at the club, and they are also thinking internally at the moment about offering him a new deal. Eddie Howe and the owners want him to stay at the club, so at the moment there is no movement – there is interest from many clubs, of course, but nothing concrete as he’s expected to stay at Newcastle.

Isak’s idea is also to continue at Newcastle, so let’s see what happens with a possible new contract, but for now I certainly wouldn’t read too much into links with Chelsea as it’s too expensive for them and he’s considered untouchable by Newcastle.

Still, Chelsea have informed Barcelona of their intention to trigger the release clause of Marc Guiu, and they have an agreement with the player, so it’s ‘here we go’ for that deal. Chelsea went for Guiu in a strong way and now it’s just about the final steps as they prepare the formal documents. They are working to pay the release clause this week, then Guiu will sign a long-term contract at Chelsea until June 2030.

Chelsea’s intention is to then have Guiu staying at Stamford Bridge to be part of the first-team squad under Enzo Maresca. Guiu really wanted to move and the deal will happen soon, also after Barcelona tried to offer the player a new deal.

Victor Osimhen transfer saga could run until later in the summer

Another striker we continue to hear a lot about is Victor Osimhen, but the reality is that it still looks quiet on this story. I think this is a situation we have to follow in July/August, rather than this week, even if there have been some rumours about his asking price changing.

Napoli are never an ‘easy club’ when it’s time to negotiate but for sure the expectation of all parties remains the same: Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli this summer.

This is not the case with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, however, with new manager Antonio Conte making it clear he wants the Georgia playmaker to stay at the club. But with Osimhen, let’s see what happens later in the summer as I expect he still has good chances to leave the club.

If Napoli do sell Osimhen, we may then also get a clearer idea about the future of Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea. For now there is no substantial update on Lukaku, but Chelsea insist on their intention to sell Lukaku and not to accept any loan now, so the situation is still the same, and it won’t be changing. It will take time and it will depends on clubs’ strategy.

Manuel Ugarte and others discussed between Man Utd and PSG

I spoke yesterday about Manchester United and PSG having contacts to discuss Manuel Ugarte and other players. Ugarte has chances to leave PSG this summer, so let’s see what happens with that one, but I don’t have any guaranteed info on the other players discussed, so at the moment I’m not in the position to mention specific names.

All I can say for now is that I’m told they discussed several opportunities, including Ugarte who’s appreciated by Man United. No bid has been sent yet, but interest is genuine. The relationship between the two clubs is very good, so let’s see what happens with Ugarte and if any other players get involved too.

United know that several players like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen could be on the move this summer, while they still have to decide what they want to do with the future of on-loan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, and so midfield is an area they’re looking at, and Ugarte is one name they appreciate.

Serhou Guirassy set to join Dortmund, but what about Premier League links?

Serhou Guirassy is set to become a new Borussia Dortmund player – it’s a ‘here we go’ because the player has given the green light to Dortmund as he’s decided to leave Stuttgart after his fantastic form there last season. Dortmund are also signing another player from Stuttgart, their centre-back Waldemar Anton. With both players, BVB are triggering their release clauses, €17.5m for Guirassy, and €22.5m for Anton.

Everything is in place for Guirassy to join Dortmund after he agreed on the contract and the salary, but we’ve also had many rumours about other clubs, including Arsenal. My understanding is that Arsenal were never really interested in Guirassy as they’re looking at a different kind of player. Same for Chelsea, who were linked but who were never really pushing for Guirassy, while AC Milan was another name mentioned but they’re also focusing on different players.

Many clubs were interested in Guirassy, for example West Ham, but now it’s ‘here we go’ for him to join Dortmund as we just wait for the formal steps to be finalised. Dortmund were always the clear favourites for this deal – the truth is they were planning with Guirassy to join since March. Yes, he was open to the Premier League or Serie A but BVB decided to go very strong for him and this was appreciated on the player side.

Crystal Palace pushing to sign Jobe Bellingham

Jobe Bellingham is wanted by Crystal Palace, as I’ve previously reported, and he remains one of the names on their list, alongside Antonio Nusa, as they look to replace Michael Olise, who will join Bayern Munich this week.

Bellingham is also wanted by Brentford and other English clubs, but I would keep an eye on Palace because they are pushing. Their manager Oliver Glasner wants Bellingham, and so now it depends on the player, because if he gives the green light they are prepared to go strong on this one.

As soon as Bellingham decides, together with his family, Palace are prepared to attack the situation. Contacts have been taking place already, and he’s absolutely one of their dream targets, so keep an eye on this one.

Jakub Kiwior appreciated by Serie A trio

Jakub Kiwior has been linked with a possible exit from Arsenal again, and he’s always being linked with Italian clubs after his impressive form when he was in Serie A with Spezia.

However, it’s not something concrete or close so far. AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli all appreciate Kiwior, they know him well since he was at Spezia but that’s it at the moment. Arsenal have still received no formal proposal for Kiwior and he remains a player trusted by Mikel Arteta.

Edmond Tapsoba eyed by PSG but they may move for cheaper alternative

Edmond Tapsoba is on the list of targets for PSG this summer, alongside players like Lutsharel Geertruida of Feyenoord.

However, it’s gone a bit quiet recently because Tapsoba is very expensive and Bayer Leverkusen want to keep him, while Geertruida can leave for a cheaper price and so could be attractive for PSG, as they already started contract talks with his agents.

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, who is the new manager of Turkish giants Fenerbahce, wants to sign two players from his ex-club this summer.

The Portuguese manager was linked with a move for Man United defender Victor Lindelof.

However, he has added another Red Devils player to his shortlist for the summer transfer window.

Mourinho has added Man United midfielder Casemiro on his list of potential targets as he plans new signings at Fenerbahce.

Turkish publication Sporx claims that Mario Branco, the sporting director of Fenerbahce, is making a lot of effort to meet Mourinho’s demands and has therefore started making moves to recruit Lindelof, who has been reported to be on the Old Trafford sale list.

Branco wants to bring another Man United player to the Turkish club and that is defensive midfielder Casemiro.

The former Real Madrid midfielder faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford and the Red Devils are believed to be ready to cash in on him this summer.

He has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League and the Major League Soccer before.

Casemiro Man United Premier League
Casemiro could be heading out of Man United this summer.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for him but after a disappointing second season for the Red Devils, his future lies away from Man United and the Premier League.

It now comes down to the finances involved, and both of these players are ones that Man United would probably contemplate letting go.

Man United plan to get rid out defensive duo

Casemiro and Lindelof are among the high-profile players that INEOS plan to let go during their summer clear-out.

The Man United squad is expected to go through a major overhaul this summer with the club looking to cut down on their wage bill.

In his first season, the Brazilian was perhaps the player of the year. However, he had a terrible second season and was not even selected for the starting eleven for the FA Cup final.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for defenders Jarrad Branthwaite and Leny Yoro, as for the midfield position, the names of Amadou Onana and Joao Neves have been mentioned.

In a surprising move, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has joined Marbella, taking on a new role as a director and shareholder at Marbella FC.

The Brazilian midfielder’s future at the club remains very uncertain, with the former Real Madrid man strongly linked with a move away.

Casemiro invests in Spanish side Marbella FC

At 32 years old, Casemiro’s career trajectory has taken an unexpected turn, as he ventures into club management. The Sun reports that the player has one eye on his future after investing in Marbella, who play in the Spanish fourth tier.

After being announced as the new director, he said (quotes via The Sun):

“It is an honour for me to join Marbella Football Club because my biggest motivation is the spectacular possibilities for growth of the club.

“I have been to Marbella with my family on several occasions and both my children, my wife and I are in love with this city, with which we want to be connected for life.

“No doubt, together we will dream big to take Marbella to the highest, but now we have to enjoy our wonderful ascent to Primera.”

Casemiro linked with a move away from Old Trafford

Speculation has linked the former Real Madrid player with a move away from Old Trafford, with strong indications that he may be eyeing a transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Recent reports suggest that Casemiro has attracted interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, including Al Nassr, where his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays.

In fact, it was reported yesterday that Ronaldo has personally approached him in an attempt to convince him to join the Saudi Pro League.

Besides Al Nassr, Both Al Ahli and Al Qasidiya are also reportedly vying for Casemiro’s signature, presenting him with lucrative opportunities as he considers his next move.

The Brazilian’s disappointment at being omitted from the FA Cup final lineup has added fuel to speculation about his departure from Manchester United.

While Casemiro remains under contract with Manchester United until 2026, the club is said to be open to offers for the midfielder.

Casemiro to leave Manchester United?

Report suggests that United could command a fee of £30 million for Casemiro, who joined the club for £70 million just two years ago.

However, Saudi clubs may seek to negotiate a lower transfer fee while offering higher wages to entice the seasoned midfielder.

Saudi Arabian clubs Al Ahli and Al Qasidiya are also in the frame to sign the five-time Champions League winner, who is said to have been hurt after being dropped for the FA Cup final.

Casemiro, who remains contracted to Old Trafford until 2026, may view this as an opportunity for a fresh start, as well as an opportunity for one final lucrative payday before he retires.

The report from The Sun further claims that while United believe they can get £30million for the man who joined for £70m just two years ago, Saudi will look to sign him for a cheaper price but increase his wages.

While Casemiro’s future remains uncertain, his latest venture into club management signals a new chapter in his career.
