Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is attracting interest from the likes of Fulham and Galatasaray, but Erik ten Hag insists United want to keep hold of him.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their squad having finished a disappointing eighth last season and bottom of their Champions League group.

After a slow start to the window there’s been a flurry of activity at Old Trafford with a number of deals being completed, and several more near the finish line.

Ten Hag insists United want to keep McTominay

United have signed striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, whilst teenage centre back Leny Yoro has also arrived from Lille, with the club also believed to working on deals for Manuel Ugarte and Matthijs de Ligt.

Midfield is an area United are looking to strengthen and they are believed to be trying to offload Casemiro, whilst the club won’t be taking up their €20m buy option on Sofyan Amrabat following his loan spell from Fiorentina last season.

United have also been linked with a move for France international Adrien Rabiot who is now a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired.

Scott McTominay and Erik ten Hag in conversation.
Ten Hag wants McTominay to remain at Old Trafford this summer.

Question marks have also surrounded the future of Scotland international McTominay who was the subject of interest from West Ham last summer.

The 27-year-old is once again attracting interest this summer with the likes of Tottenham, Fulham and Turkish giants Galatasaray all said to be interested.

However, Ten Hag has come out and insisted United want to keep the midfielder and that he’s a very important part of the squad.

“We have very good players so there will always be an interest from other clubs,” Ten Hag said.

“When you score 10 goals in a season and also perform very good for Scotland, then there will be an interest. But we want to keep him because he is a very important player for our squad.

“What he can contribute, as we saw last season once we had our sixes available, he could play in a more advanced role and he is a highly interesting player for our team.”

McTominay popped up with a number of late and important goals last season for United as he scored ten goals in 43 appearances in all competitions, but he only has one year remaining on his current deal although United have a club option for a further year.

Arsenal have rejected bids from Crystal Palace and Fulham for Emile Smith Rowe according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

It’s been a quiet transfer window for the Gunners so far as the club look to strengthen a squad that narrowly missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City last season.

Mikel Arteta’s side are trying to wrap up a deal for Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori but a fee between the two clubs seems to be a stumbling point, whilst several fringe players have departed the club.

Arsenal reject Smith-Rowe bids

Smith Rowe, who came through the Arsenal academy is a player this is expected to leave the Emirates this summer in search of more regular first team football.

Sky Sports reporter Sheth has stated that Crystal Palace and Fulham have had bids rejected for Smith-Rowe with discussions taking place at both clubs about whether to return with an improved offer.

He took to X.com and said:

“BREAKING: Arsenal reject bids from Fulham & Crystal Palace for forward Emile Smith Rowe.

“Discussions ongoing at both clubs over whether to go back in with improved offer.

“Smith Rowe wants to assess all options – regular first team football is primary motivation. #AFC #FFC #CPFC.”

The 23-year-old has been at Arsenal since the age of ten, and had a breakout season under Arteta during the 2020/2021 campaign, but injuries have severely limited his minutes over the past two yeas.

Smith Rowe is out of contract at the Emirates in 2026, but with a new deal highly unlikely, this summer represents the best chance for Arsenal to get the highest fee possible.

The academy graduate made 19 appearances last season in all competitions, but played a total of just 475 minuted and failed to find the back of the net.

A move to Crystal Palace could be exciting given what Oliver Glasner seems to be building at Selhurst Park with exciting players like Eberechi Eze and Daichi Kamada who has just joined the club this summer.

Now the Euros and the Copa America are over things should start to heat up in the transfer market as pre-season begins and the start of the season draws closer.

Fulham are leading the race for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay with Newcastle, West Ham and Southampton also interested according to reports.

United are set for a busy summer, and a number of players are expected to be moved on, including the likes of Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho and Casemiro as they look to raise funds and free up space in the squad.

McTominay has seen his game time at Old Trafford lessen following the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo, and he was the subject of interest from West Ham last summer, but ended up staying at United.

Fulham lead the race for McTominay

The 27-year-old has made 352 appearances for the Red Devils, but is thought to be one of the players the club are happy to sell this summer.

The Scotland international has popped up with a number of important late goals for United, including an injury time double against Brentford and both goals in the win against Chelsea last season.

McTominay scored ten goals in 43 appearances in all competitions last summer, but is out of contract in 2025, with United running the risk of losing him on a free if they opt against selling the Scot this summer.

McTominay is attracting interest from four Premier League clubs.

Manchester World report that four Premier League clubs are interested in the midfielder’s services with Fulham believed to be leading the way, with Newcastle, West Ham and newly promoted Southampton also interested.

The report adds that Fulham are leading the way for McTominay with Marco Silva keen on pairing him with former team-mate Andreas Pereira at Craven Cottage, and a bid is expected soon.

West Ham had an offer rejected last summer, and Manchester World adds their interest is believed to have cooled.

Following Scotland’s early elimination from Euro 2024, McTominay is expected to play a full part in United’s pre-season tour of America.

United are targeting moves for Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee, whilst they also have interest in  Manuel Ugarte and Jarrad Branthwaite.

Eddie Nketiah is very likely to leave Arsenal this summer according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Gunners are in the market for a striker as they look for a regular source of goals that they hope will see them win a first Premier League title in over 20 years next season.

Arsenal were strongly linked with Benjamin Sesko before he decided to stay at RB Leipzig, and they have also been linked with Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, but it appears one striker will be leaving the Emirates this summer.

Nketiah expected to leave Arsenal this summer

Nketiah has struggled at Arsenal and only scored five Premier League goals last season, with three of those coming against bottom club Sheffield United.

The 25-year-old made 37 appearances in all competitions last season and played a total of 1416 minutes.

It appears first team minutes are going to becoming increasingly more difficult to come by for Nketiah and Sheth has reported he is very likely to leave this summer if a club comes in for him.

Eddie Nketiah in action for Arsenal.
Nketiah is expected to leave Arsenal this summer with the club reportedly valuing him at £50m.

“If you add to that, that Eddie Nketiah is very likely to move on from Arsenal this summer, then there will be not least squad space for them to bring someone like that in,” he told GIVEMESPORT.

“There have been all sorts of links; we know about the link with Benjamin Sesko, but he signed a new contract with RB Leipzig, and the link with Viktor Gyokeres doesn’t go away either from Sporting Lisbon.”

The Gunners have reportedly set an asking price of £50m for Nketiah which is unlikely to attract many suitors.

The likes of Crystal Palace, Wolves and Fulham have been linked with a move for Nketiah, but at a reported £50m there’s little chance they will try and complete a deal.

If Nketiah does depart that leaves Arsenal with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as their forward options so reinforcements would certainly be required.

A Fulham supporter has been banned for three years from football after homophobic chanting in February.

The incident took place during 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where Josaiah Norman was caught using the homophobic slur ‘rent boy’ during the match. Norman, 25, pleaded guilty to the offence at Westminster Magistrates Court, report the BBC.

In addition to the ban, Norman was fined although it is not yet clear how much.

The Football Association also have the ability to charge clubs for their fans’ actions, but have not taken the opportunity to do so on this occasion. The incident was condemned by Fulham and Chelsea at the time, the latter of which reported the incident and gave evidence.

The Premier League has for some time supported civil rights for the LGBTQ+ community, in particular with their rainbow laces campaign, however like many large companies have been accused of a largely superficial response to discrimination at times.

Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha was one of the standouts in last season’s Premier League, and it is no surprise that he is attracting interest. Where he ends up, remains a subject of debate.

One of the interested parties is thought to be West Ham United. The Hammers are resigned to losing Declan Rice this summer, albeit for a major fee, and Fabrizio Romano believes that the Portuguese lynchpin is top of their shortlist.

Palhinha may well be able to aim for Champions League football this summer, depending on what offers arrive, but Darren Ambrose has explained that West Ham is a step up from Fulham in spite of the fact the latter finished above them.

“I can (see him making that move across the capital), depending on what he is being offered,” Ambrose told Talksport via HITC.

“West Ham, at the moment, you would say it’s a step up from Fulham, however well Fulham did last season. They surprised a lot of people.”

“I think West Ham massively underachieved last season. They need to improve, and in order to improve, they need to get players that were better than them last season and Palhinha is one of them.”

“If you have got the chance to sign Palhinha, people will be screaming at their radios ‘how is that a step up?’ But if you look at the actual football clubs and what they achieved last season, Fulham overachieved and West Ham underachieved, so I can see that happening.”

David Moyes secured West Ham’s first European trophy in a number of years. While Fulham are performing well, the attraction of the London Stadium and European football might be enough to entice Palhinha. No doubt they will have to make it worth is while though.

Nottingham Forest are said to be in talks with Liverpool over defender Neco Williams. Amid reports that their current first choice Djed Spence may be on the move to Tottenham, Forest are in need of new option and Williams would provide a similar outlet for Steve Cooper.

The information comes from Nottingham Post, who were referencing a report from the Telegraph, which claims that the two clubs are negotiating a fee for Williams. Liverpool have set their asking price at £15m for the Welsh defender, with Fulham also supposedly ready to launch a £10m bid.

Williams scored twice and assisted twice while on loan at Fulham.

Williams moved to Fulham in January of last season on loan, where he impressed in his 14 appearances. With a difference of £5m between Fulham and Liverpool and two parties interested, it seems inevitable that a deal will get done at some point. SkySports have also included Southampton in the picture. Although it’s by no means pennies to the two promoted clubs, it’s well within their reach to make an extra effort if they truly want Williams.

Having helped Wales past Ukraine, Williams will likely be going to the World Cup in November. Although he’s struggled to win a place in Jurgen Klopp’s side, that should be no slight on him given Trent Alexander-Arnold is his competition. At the age of 21, it looks as like a solid investment, whomever manages to get the deal done.

Four years since signing for Fulham on transfer deadline day from Marseille, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa has left the club on a permanent deal. The Cameroon international had spent the last season on loan at Napoli and they decided to make that move a permanent one.

Anguissa only spent two years of his time contracted to Fulham in London, going out on loan to Villarreal and more recently Napoli when Fulham suffered relegation on both occasions in the last four years. According to The Athletic, the deal will cost £14.7m, which represents a significant loss on the fee initial fee that Fulham paid for him (£22.37m).

Anguissa only spent half of his time at Fulham since moving there.

Anguissa excelled during his season in Spain with Villarreal, but has struggled to make the same impact in England whenever at Fulham. This season Napoli have called on his services 30 times across all competitions in order to secure a third-place finish in Serie A.

Fulham have been promoted to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The Cottagers beat Preston North End 3-0 with goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic and Fabio Carvalho getting the vital goals. That secures their place in the top two of the Championship mathematically, holding a 13 point advantage over Huddersfield Town, who have just 3 games left.

It was perhaps fitting that Mitrovic got the vital goals, having broken the Championship record this season and fired Fulham to the top of the table – currently the Serbian striker sits on 40 league goals for the season.

He will make the return to the top division, as will manager Marco Silva. The Portuguese has been praised for creating an attractive and effective team at Craven Cottage. Fulham will be his fourth job in the Premier League after managing Hull City, Watford and Everton. It’s likely they will also be crowned champions of the championship too, with nine point gap between themselves and Bournemouth, although the Cherries do have a game in hand.

As is evident from the scenes at the end, this was no sleepy walk to promotion but an explosion of joy. The question will be whether they can stay up, having failed to do so on during their last two attempts.

Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, has been identified by Jose Mourinho to replace Luke Shaw at Manchester Utd next season, according to reports.

Shaw was substituted at half-time during Man Utd’s 2-0 FA Cup quarter-final victory against Brighton and manager Mourinho was critical of the left-back’s performance once again.

Speaking after the game, Mourinho said that he elected to take off Shaw, rather than fellow full-back, Antonio Valencia because of his poor defensive showing.

“Luke, in the first half, every time they came in his corridor, the cross came in and a dangerous situation was coming,” the Portuguese said.

“I was not happy with his performance.”

Luke Shaw could be leaving Manchester United in the summer after Mourinho’s comments

According to the BBC, sources close to the 22-year-old, is understood to have been upset by Mourinho’s comments and could leave this summer.

Sessegnon could replace Shaw, with the 17-year-old Fulham star putting in a string of impressive displays in the Championship.

Sessegnon has played at left-back and on the wing for the Cottages, and boasts impressive numbers this season.

Blessed with incredible pace and skill, he has 14 goals and five assists in 38 games this term and has been a key player for Fulham, who are aiming to secure their place in the Premier League next season.

Who is Ryan Sessegnon and what is his background?

Ryan Sessegnon was born on May 18, 2000 and is a south west London native who been likened to Gareth Bale.

He joined Fulham as an eight-year-old and has been described as the future of English football by his teammates.

Such praise was unsurprising, given that it only took him eight years to break through the ranks and into the first-team fold – making his debut aged 16 years and 81 days in August 2016.

He recorded his first senior goal within 11 days of making his debut.

This impressive feat made him the first player born in the 2000s to register an effort for an English professional side and the youngest ever to find the target in the Championship.

Sessegnon’s performances this season has been rewarded after he was named the EFL Player of the Year at the London Football Awards.

He is highly likely to move on in the summer if the Fulham fail to win promotion to the Premier League and is valued at around £50 million by the Championship club with Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal also said to be interested.

And Sessegnon was forthcoming at the prospect of playing in England’s top tier.

He said: “I think for any young player playing outside the Premier League, the dream is to be in the Premier League. I’m no different to any other player, I just want to play at the highest possible level.”
