Reports from Leicester Mercury indicate that the Foxes have agreed to meet Juventus’ €30 million asking price, surpassing their initial €25 million bid which was rejected.

However, according to TuttoJuve, Soule is not enthusiastic about moving to Leicester and has expressed a strong desire to join AS Roma instead.

AS Roma, though interested, have not yet matched Juventus’ asking price, leaving the deal with Leicester City hanging in the balance.

AS Roma are trying to hijack Leicester City’s move for Juventus star Matias Soule as the Italian giants have submitted a higher offer than the one tabled by the Premier League club.

CaughtOffside previously reported that Leicester have submitted a €24m proposal for the Argentine winger and that Juventus were ready to accept that offer and allow Soule to move to the English top flight.

Personal terms have already been agreed between Leicester and the Juventus player with the 21-year-old set to receive a contract at the King Power Stadium until 2028/29.

However, things have changed, as Roma are now leading the race to sign Soule having made an offer of €29m plus add-ons to Juve for the Argentine talent.

Sources have told CaughtOffside that the Turin club will accept the best offer that arrives for the winger and that Leicester City have already been informed that they will lose the race for Soule following Roma’s latest move.

It remains to be seen if the Foxes will respond with a higher bid and if they do, that could bring the Premier League club back to the front of the race.

Roma plan to talk to the Juventus player’s agents soon as they continue to make moves to get a deal for the winger over the line.

Juventus are ready to accept a £21m offer from Leicester City for talented winger Matias Soule and the Serie A giants plan to use that money to sign Man United’s Jadon Sancho.

Sancho is expected to leave Man United this summer, however, that might have changed as it seems that the 24-year-old has sorted his issues with United boss Erik ten Hag.

Speaking to AD, the Dutch coach has confirmed that the pair have made up after their fallout last season, Ten Hag said via Fabrizio Romano: “We spoke well. Everyone can make a mistake.

“We draw a line and move on,” the Man United boss stated. “This club needs good players and one thing is certain: Jadon is a very good player.

Argentine winger Matias Soule is open to a transfer to Leicester City this summer but awaits a bid being accepted by Juventus, according to reports.

Soule has been a Juventus player since 2020 but has, to date, played just 21 times for the senior team, scoring one goal.

However, the 11-time Argentina youth international impressed greatly during a loan spell at Frosinone last season, notching 11 goals and three assists in 36 Serie A appearances despite the Canaries suffering relegation to the second division.

“He has quality and quantity,” former Juventus boss Max Allegri said of Soule last year (via Juve FC).

“I’m happy with how he’s developing. As I always say, everyone is growing and young players need to be given time to develop, both technically and physically.”

Leicester City yet to meet Soule asking price

Despite being so highly rated, it’s reported that Soule could leave Juventus this summer.

According to the latest print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), the 21-year-old has stated his intention to sign a contract with Leicester City this summer worth €2.5m/€3m per season.

However, Soule is still waiting for Juventus to accept a bid from the Foxes.

The report states that Leicester are prepared to table a bid of €25m plus €5m add-ons for Soule, but the Old Lady want to hold out for €30m plus add-ons.

Roma are also understood to be interested in the Mar del Plata native but are unwilling to meet Juventus’ asking price, while the player’s agent is currently in Turin discussing his client’s future.

CaughtOffside sources are aware that the Foxes are set to make an opening bid of £20-25m for Juve’s Argentine ace, Matias Soule.

It may take a little extra on top to get the Bianconeri to do business as they’re expected to hold out for closer to €40m.

There will almost certainly be room for negotiation, however, as Juventus plan to use the money from Soule’s sale to land Sancho.
