Newcastle and England defender Kieran Trippier is currently facing personal challenges amid reports of marital troubles.

Trippier and his wife, Charlotte, have recently put their £3.8 million home on the market, fueling speculation about the state of their marriage.

Charlotte, an interior designer, chose not to accompany Trippier to Germany for the recently concluded Euro 2024 tournament.

As per The Sun, during the group stages, she posted a cryptic message on social media, stating: “Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you’d never get over and it’s the best feeling in the world.”

The couple, who married in Cyprus in June 2016, share two children—a son born in 2016 and a daughter born in 2019.

Despite their family life, recent events have brought their relationship under scrutiny.

In May last year, Trippier was seen celebrating European qualification with his teammates and was filmed lifting a blonde woman during a party.

This incident took place while Charlotte was on holiday in Spain, raising further questions about the stability of their relationship.

Trippier’s marriage not the only thing uncertain as Newcastle contract nears end

On the pitch, Trippier was a key part of England’s team in the Euro 2024 which reached the finals. He started every game except the final, where the team narrowly lost 2-1 to Spain.

His current future at Newcastle remains uncertain, with the player in his final year of his current contract.

There have been no fresh talks regarding a new contract. It remains to be seen whether the club will offer him a new deal, or cash in on him this summer to avoid letting him go on a free next summer.

Newcastle United could reportedly sell Kieran Trippier before the end of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a recent report from Football Insider, who claims the Magpies are open to offers for the 33-year-old full-back.

Despite enjoying a commendable EUROs campaign for England, the experienced right-back, who showed off his versatility by playing at left-back under Gareth Southgate, is a strong candidate to leave St. James’ Park.

Newcastle United open to Kieran Trippier offers

Trippier, who joined from Atletico Madrid in 2022, has delighted fans and was made club captain by Eddie Howe. However, entering his deal’s final 12 months, the England international now faces an uncertain future.

Newcastle United could cash in on Kieran Trippier this summer.

Previously linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, it’s been reported that wealthy Middle Eastern clubs retain an interest ahead of the new 2024-25 season.

Irrespective of what teams may back up their interest with a formal bid, it has been noted the Magpies are willing to listen to offers for their skipper.

Howe has Tino Livramento primed to take over from Trippier. The 21-year-old is one of the Premier League’s most highly-rated right-backs and enjoyed a solid debut campaign following his move from Southampton last year.

Gareth Southgate is set to start Luke Shaw for England in their European Championship final clash with Spain later tonight.

After their impressive semi-final victory against the Netherlands which saw Southgate’s side line-up with two wing-backs, many expected the England manager to name an unchanged side for the final.

However, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Southgate has opted to start Shaw in the left-back position rather than Kieran Trippier.

The Manchester United defender missed the opening half of the tournament as he was still recovering from a hamstring injury which he sustained back in February.

Shaw then made his first appearance in the competition against Switzerland in the quarter-final where he got almost a complete half of football under his belt before then playing 45 minutes against the Netherlands in the semi-final.

With such few competitive minutes under his belt over the past five months, it has come as a surprise to many that Southgate has decided to start him.

The 29-year-old will no doubt have his work cut out for him as he faces the unenviable task of shackling the dynamic Lamine Yamal who has been arguably the best player in the competition so far.

With a natural left-footer operating out wide it will hopefully allow Jude Bellingham to cut inside on his favoured right foot and solve one of England’s most obvious weaknesses.

England fans won’t forget the part Shaw played in the European Championship final against Italy in 2021 when the left-back stunned Wembley after he opened the scoring inside just two minutes.

Gareth Southgate faces a selection dilemma ahead of England’s Euro 2024 quarter-final with Switzerland on Saturday.

After heading to Germany facing doubts over his ability to cut it in a major international tournament, Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi has arguably been the Three Lions’ most consistent player so far.

The 23-year-old is ranked first among England players at the tournament for aerial duels won (9) and possessions won in the middle third (12), while he’s second for passes completed (312), showing excellent ability and composure with and without the ball.

However, Guehi picked up his second yellow card of Euro 2024 in England’s 2-1 win over Slovakia in the previous round, meaning he’ll miss their clash with the Swiss in Dusseldorf.

What’s more, Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier is a fitness doubt after filling in at left-back throughout the tournament despite struggling with a calf problem.

The latest reports (via talkSPORT) suggest Southgate could make a switch to a back three against Switzerland. It’s a system that has served the England manager well in previous tournaments and could provide extra defensive cover with the Three Lions missing key personnel.

But how could England line up if they make this tactical switch?

England predicted XI vs Switzerland

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

No shocks here. Pickford is behind only France’s Mike Maignan (3) for clean sheets with two, while he’s made 10 saves and pulled England out of numerous holes with his agility and alertness. The Everton stopper’s ability on the ball is a huge bonus.

Right centre-back: Kyle Walker

Nominally a right-back, Walker has filled the RCB role for England in the past, most successfully during the run to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals. His ability on the ball and recovery speed make him a huge asset while, at 34 years old, he carries a wealth of experience at club and international level.

Centre-back: John Stones

Stones has been spotted training in a knee brace this week, but is expected to be fit to face Switzerland. The Man City star has been the cause of real frustration at these Euros with his play on the ball often painfully slow and ponderous. However, there’s no doubting his quality on peak form, while he’s become a stalwart for England under Southgate. A back three would give Stones more licence to step into midfield and help the Three Lions build attacks, which is where he’s at his best.

Left centre-back: Ezri Konsa

With Guehi suspended, there’s a real opportunity for someone to make their mark at this tournament. Southgate has Joe Gomez, Lewis Dunk and Ezri Konsa to choose from but the latter feels most likely.

Konsa only has five senior England caps to his name, but they’ve all come this year, playing 295 minutes across their final four pre-tournament friendlies and coming off the bench for the second half of extra-time against Slovakia. Konsa is a great utility man, able to play right across the back line, which could be the defining factor behind his selection in this system.

Right wing-back: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Pretty much everybody is in agreement that the midfield experiment didn’t work with Alexander-Arnold. However, nobody can question his incredible ability on the ball. Right wing-back is arguably the best way to utilise the Liverpool man at international level, leaving him to focus on delivering dangerous crosses and defence-splitting passes, with Walker’s speed behind him to cover defensively.

Alexander-Arnold’s last outing on the right flank for England was a 25-minute cameo in their 1-0 loss to Iceland, where he created three chances, attempted 10 crosses and played five passes into the final third.

Central midfield: Kobbie Mainoo

Things still haven’t been perfect — far from it, in fact — but Mainoo has definitely improved England across the last game-and-a-half. The Manchester United youngster has shown great composure on the ball and looks a far more progressive passer than Conor Gallagher, whose best use is as a pressing option from the bench.

Mainoo completed 65 of his 68 attempted passes against Slovakia, including seven into the final third, while he created one chance and fired a volley just over the crossbar.

Central midfield: Declan Rice

Rice is another who has not really hit his best form at Euro 2024 so far, although he did play a key role on both sides of the ball across 120 minutes against Slovakia, with 100% success on dribbling and long passes, as well as four tackles, 10 recoveries and two interceptions.

But the Arsenal man remains an unquestioned starter and key man for Southgate. And who knows; with three centre-backs behind him and the composed Mainoo next to him, maybe this is the system that could allow him to make those driving forward runs we’ve enjoyed so much during his time with the Gunners so far?

Rice’s effort that rattled the post against Slovakia was a snapshot of what he can offer going forward.

Left wing-back: Bukayo Saka

Left-back has been the problem position for England at Euro 2024, with their only natural left-footed option, Luke Shaw, still not fit. A switch to a back three would undoubtedly provide Southgate with a solution — admittedly, an unconventional one — in the form of Bukayo Saka.

The Arsenal man dropped in at left-back during the Slovakia game for a short period while, according to Transfermakt, he’s played that position 22 times during his club career to date, so he’s not a complete rookie.

There’s no doubt Saka would provide the width England have so greatly craved at this tournament and with the defensively solid Konsa behind him, this might just work.

Attacking midfield: Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden | Striker: Harry Kane

Seeing Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Harry Kane all trying to occupy the same space has left England fans tearing their hair out during the course of this tournament. Especially when it’s come at the cost of width on the left or a focal point up front.

Is 3-4-2-1 the system that can truly mould the three of them into the attacking force of Euro 2024?

With so much solidity behind them, there would be no need for Bellingham or Foden to worry too much about tracking back, while having them both in close proximity to Kane would allow forward runs when the Bayern Munich striker drops into space to connect the play.

We all want to see Bellingham unleashed into the Zidane-esque free role, Foden allowed to express himself as he does for Man City and Kane to, well, do Kane things. Score lots of goals and pick out ridiculous passes from deep.

With an incredible opportunity to make another final opening up before England, it’s time for Gareth Southgate to do something bold.

Bukayo Saka has insisted he is not the solution to England’s left-back crisis.

The Three Lions are preparing for their Euro 2024 round of 16 clash with Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday. However, things are far from rosy despite topping Group C and remaining unbeaten through three games with just one goal conceded.

England have scored just two goals at the tournament so far, putting in laboured attacking performances against Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia. What’s more, there has been a lack of balance with Kieran Trippier forced to fill in at left-back due to Luke Shaw heading to camp injured — the Man Utd man only recently returned to training.

Taking Shaw over other left-footed options has opened manager Gareth Southgate up to criticism. England attacks often become stifled when reaching the left flank as Trippier cuts back onto his right foot and Phil Foden drifts inside.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright offered an unconventional solution to England’s width problem, suggesting Southgate move Saka to left-back to open up a starting place for Chelsea star Cole Palmer on the wing.

“I saw a stat about Kieran Trippier being our second most productive player, touches and passes. I’m thinking, how are we going to get Palmer into the team if that’s the case?” Wright said on ITV (via GIVEMESPORT).

“With how naturally left-sided Saka is, could you maybe put Saka at left-back, and put Palmer on the right? Simply because we need to get some balance and fluidity in the game.”

Saka responds to Ian Wright suggestion

Wright’s suggestion has sparked heated debate among England supporters. However, Saka himself has poured cold water on the possibility of him taking up a defensive role.

“I don’t think putting me out of position is the solution,” the Arsenal winger said (via Sky Sports).

“At the end of the day, I think we can talk about this but it’s in Gareth’s hands so we will just have to trust whoever Gareth selects on the day.”

Whether or not Saka will lose his place to Palmer remains to be seen. The Chelsea man made a great impact from the bench during England’s 0-0 draw against Slovenia in their final group game, while Southgate must also decide whether or not to start Man Utd talent Kobbie Mainoo after a strong performance replacing Conor Gallagher at half-time.

Newcastle United have offered defender and vice-captain Kieran Trippier to Italian giants AC Milan and AS Roma, according to reports.

Following a successful spell in Spain with Atletico Madrid — where he made 86 appearances across all competitions between 2019 and 2022, winning the 2020/21 La Liga title — Trippier returned to England with Newcastle in January 2022.

The right-back quickly established himself as a key player at St. James’ Park and has made 92 appearances for the club across all competitions.

During that time, Trippier has led the Magpies to the 2023 EFL Cup final, while he’s provided more assists (17) and created more chances (182) than any other Newcastle player since signing.

However, Newcastle are one of a number of English clubs battling to remain compliant with Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

According to a report from AS Roma Live (via Geordie Boot Boys), Trippier is one such player Newcastle are considering moving on, with the right-back being offered to both Roma and AC Milan.

Roma’s stance on Trippier is unclear, but the report states that AC Milan are more keen on signing Tottenham’s Brazilian defender Emerson Royal.

Trippier wants to stay put

Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported back in January that Trippier had reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, where he would have joined fellow English stars Harry Kane and Eric Dier.

However, according to Geordie Boot Boys, Trippier would prefer to stay put — a feeling shared by manager Eddie Howe.

Although selling a defender who will turn 34 during the new season would make financial sense, it’s hard to deny just how keenly the loss of his experience, leadership and quality would be felt in the Newcastle changing room — despite having a ready-made replacement in Tino Livramento.

For now, Trippier will remain focused on England’s Euro 2024 campaign in Germany, where he has started all three matches for Gareth Southgate’s men so far.

England have been quite disappointing in the UEFA Euro 2024, so far winning one of their group games and drawing the other two.

Although they have made it to the next round of the competition, they will need to improve their performance in order to do well in the tournament this summer. Former England international striker and Arsenal legend Ian Wright has now urged Gareth Southgate to drop Kieran Trippier in favour of Cole Palmer.

The Chelsea forward had an exceptional club campaign, but he has not had a look in with the national team in the Euros so far. Wright believes that England need more fluidity in the attack and therefore they should look to make way for Palmer. He has also suggested using Bukayo Saka as left back instead of Trippier.

Since the Arsenal star is a naturally left-sided player, he could add greater balance to the side.

“I saw a stat about Kieran Trippier being our second most productive player in terms of touches and passes,” he said on ITV.

“How are we going to get Palmer into the team if that is the case? With how naturally left-sided Saka is, maybe can you put Saka at left-back and put Palmer on the right. Simply because we need to get some balance and fluidity into the game.

“As great as Saka has done for England with his goals and assists, he’s a natural left-sided player. He started playing for England and Arsenal at left-back. If that’s going to give the balance and get Cole Palmer in the team then it is something you have to look at.”

It will be interesting to see if Palmer gets opportunities in the knockout rounds of the tournament. There is no doubt that he is a top-class talent with a bright future and he could make a big difference for England going forward. There is no dearth of options in the attack for England, but they will need to be diligent with their team selections if they want to win the Euros this summer.

There seems to be some tension in the England camp in Germany as Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier is believed to have been involved in a heated exchange with fellow full-back Kyle Walker.

Following England’s dire 1-1 draw with Denmark last Thursday, an incident in training has caused some tension between Walker and Trippier. The pair are said to have confronted each other in the middle of a session with the Newcastle star appearing to take exception to something the Man City defender had said, as per The Sun.

Phil Foden is believed to have acted as a peacemaker between the duo as it remains unknown what was said.

Euro 2024 has been a bit of a disaster so far for England as this tension off the field follows two underwhelming performances on it. This is something Gareth Southgate will need to nip in the bud as it has the potential to spiral out of control and become a national story.

England face Slovenia on Tuesday with a place in the next round on the line and the Three Lions boss will hope to have a settled camp by the time kick-off comes around.

Is Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier feeling the pressure of Euro 2024?

Several stars have come under the spotlight during England’s opening two games and Trippier has been one of them. The Newcastle star is one of the players playing out of position so far at Euro 2024, with the right-back filling in for Luke Shaw on the left.

The defender has struggled at times, but so has Phil Foden on that side of the field.

Southgate seems to be trying to fit square pegs into round holes and it simply has not worked. That may have led to the tension in training as certain players may feel they can’t help the team as best they can at present due to them not being in their ideal role.

Newcastle United full-back Kieran Trippier has reportedly been spotted getting into something of a heated row in England training with his fellow defender Kyle Walker.

The England teammates could be spotted exchanging some strong words during a training session at Euro 2024, and fans will no doubt be worried about the mood inside Gareth Southgate’s squad after a slow start to this summer’s big international tournament.

England were lacklustre in their 1-1 draw with Denmark and a big improvement will be needed to go further in this competition and live up to their tag as one of the favourites to lift the trophy.

Trippier has long been a key player for England, and Newcastle fans will no doubt hope he can continue to have a positive impact for his country.

The 33-year-old still has it in him to influence big games, and he remains a trusted member of Southgate’s side, even if one imagines the manager would also like to have the naturally left-footed Luke Shaw back and available again on that left-hand side of his defence.

It’s not entirely clear what went on between Trippier and Walker, but England fans will just be hoping this is a good sign of the players firing each other up, rather than turning against each other.

Phil Foden is reported to have acted as the peacemaker after the row broke out, with Trippier taking issue with something Walker said, though reports are yet to detail the specifics of this exchange.

England face Slovenia in their final group stage game at the European Championship this summer.

The Three Lions have so far won one of their matches and drawn the other one.

They face Slovenia in their last match of the group stage and their preparations for the match are not going too well.

According to The Sun, two England players were involved in a heated exchange in the training session.

After England’s embarrassing 1-1 draw with Denmark, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier reportedly got into a heated argument during a training session.

The players had to be calmed down by Walker’s Manchester City teammate Phil Foden.

The players confronted each other in training with Trippier unhappy about something Walker had said to him.

Trippier is thought to have signaled to Walker that there was an issue that needed to be resolved while standing a few meters away.

Foden’s intervention made sure that the things remain under control and the two players avoid creating a bigger scene.

Two England players were involved in a heated exchange in training.

Not all is well in the England camp as Gareth Southgate’s team are struggling to impress with their performance this summer.

In both their matches, they have been a huge disappointment and have played with a conservative approach that has been heavily criticised.

England have failed to impress at the Euros

Southgate’s tactics have come under scrutiny with England failing to control the match and sitting too deep and being cautious in their approach.

They have a chance to change that when they face Slovenia and it remains to be seen if Premier League’s Young Player of the Year Cole Palmer will get an opportunity to play for the Three Lions.

He has failed to get a single minute at the Euros this summer but he could be called upon soon by Southgate to offer the team an attacking threat.
