Talks between Tottenham and AC Milan over the transfer of Emerson Royal are currently on standby according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Serie A side have expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, but so far the Italian outfit aren’t prepared to meet Tottenham’s valuation.

Spurs are looking to offload a number of players with Royal falling into that category whilst the north London outfit are also keen to move on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Emerson’s move to AC Milan on standby

AC Milan are in the market for a right back this summer and have identified Royal as a target, with Spurs said to want more than €20m for the Brazilian.

The north London club are said to have rejected two approaches from the Serie A outfit and Romano has now provided an update on the situation.

He took to X.com and said:

“Understand talks between AC Milan and Tottenham for Emerson Royal are currently in stand-by.

“Negotiations have gone cold after Spurs rejecting two approaches and still asking for more than €20m fee.

“Milan and Spurs are not advancing, at this stage.”

Reports in Italy have suggested that Milan are looking at alternative targets and have enquired about Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Manchester City’s Issa Kabore.

With Tottenham seemingly unprepared to budge on their valuation, and Milan also not prepared to go above what they believe Royal is worth, a deal for the Brazil international is currently not progressing.

Royal joined Spurs from Spanish giants Barcelona in 2021 and he currently has two years remaining on his deal having signed a five year contract following his move to the club.

The right back made 24 appearances in all competitions last season, with 22 of those coming in the Premier League and he found the back of the net on one occasion.

Spurs are clearly happy to move the Brazilian on if their valuation is met, but if a move to AC Milan fails to materialise, it will be interesting to see if he remains in north London, or whether any new suitors come in.

Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Fenerbahce forward Sebastian Szymanski according to reports in Turkey.

Spurs are reportedly in the market for a striker as they look to ease the goal scoring burden on Son Heung-Min, with Richarlison not really living up to expectations following his move from Everton.

The club have already agreed a deal with RB Leipzig to extend Timo Werner’s loan deal, but it appears they may have found the striker they are looking for.

Spurs close in on Szymanski

Turkish outlet Aslinda have reported that Spurs are close to completing a move for Fenerbahce’s Polish striker Szymanski.

The reports adds that Spurs have made an offer of around £15m and have agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old on a four year contract.

Aslinda add that a fee is still being negotiated but once that has been sorted the striker will then fly to England for a medical.

Spurs are believed to be closing in on a deal for Szymanski.

The Poland international only joined Fenerbahce from Dynamo Moscow last summer and scored ten goals and provided 12 assists as they finished runners up to rivals Galatasaray in the league.

Szymanski was part of the Poland squad which finished bottom of their group at Euro 2024 and he made two appearances in the group stage.

Tottenham are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season having missed out on Champions League football by two points to Aston Villa.

Spurs are also believed to be looking to strengthen in midfield and have been strongly linked with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher although it’s unknown if the 24-year-old would be open to the switch, and if Spurs would get anywhere near the reported £50m asking price.

Tottenham have also been linked with Southamtpon’s Kyle Walker-Peters as they look for a back-up right back if Emerson Royal leaves this summer.

Tottenham are showing interest in Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters as they look to sign a new right back this summer according to reports.

Spurs could be in the market for a right back this summer if Emerson Royal departs, with the Brazilian attracting interest from AC Milan.

A potential Royal departure would leave Spurs needing a back-up for first choice right back Pedro Porro.

Spurs interested in Walker-Peters

Walker-Peters came through the ranks at Spurs, before being sold to Southampton in 2020, and he was part of the side which won promotion back to the Premier League last season.

Spurs have been linked with Monaco’s Vanderson who has a price tag of around £34m which they are reportedly put off by, but GIVEMESPORT report they are interested in reuniting with Walker-Peters.

Walker-Peters is reportedly attracting interest from former club Tottenham.

The report adds that Spurs consider the 27-year-old as a cost effective option as they search for a back-up right back.

If Walker-Peters did rejoin the club he would count towards the home grown quota, but GIVEMESPORT add he would still have to be convinced of his role in the squad.

Former Spurs defender Alan Hutton believes the club could try and hijack Manchester United’s move for Jarrad Branthwaite, but it remains to be seen if Spurs are prepared to spend up to £70m on one player this summer.

The club haven’t done a lot of business, and so far they have only extended Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipizig.

Spurs are believed to be in the market for a midfielder and a striker, with the club linked with moves for Conor Gallagher and Ivan Toney as they look to strengthen the squad in an attempt to get back into the Champions League next season, having missed out to Aston Villa by just two points.

Former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton believes Spurs could “hijack” Manchester United’s move for Jarrad Branthwaite.

Branthwaite is a man in demand this summer following a successful season which saw him break into the England squad, although he missed out on the final squad for Euro 2024.

Everton will be desperate to keep hold of the 21-year-old and they are believed to value him at around £70m.

Hutton thinks Spurs could hijack United’s move for Branthwaite

United are looking for defensive reinforcements following the departure of Raphael Varane, whilst doubts still surround the future of Harry Maguire, who was subject of strong interest from West Ham last summer.

The Red Devils have identified Branthwaite as their priority target, and saw an opening bid of £35m turned down earlier this month, which is someway short of Everton’s valuation.

Branthwaite is reportedly keen to join United, but there has been no significant progress since the opening offer, and Hutton believes his former club Spurs could be set to try and hijack the deal for the defender.

Jarrad Branthwaite in action for Everton.
Hutton feels Spurs could hijack United’s move for Branthwaite.

“I feel at times [Tottenham] have been light in that sense, actually across the back four,” he told Football Insider.

“When you look at their starting back line, if any of them get injured or go missing for a good length of time, the players that come in aren’t quite up to the standard.

“To have someone in the door with that potential who could be a regular starter for England moving forward, that could be a great deal.

“He did really well last season, and there are talks [Cristian] Romero could be on the move, so there’s a few things in the pipeline that might lead towards them going for someone like [Branthwaite], and him filling that void at centre-half.

“I have heard there could be a hijack there, from people I speak to at the club.”

Whether Spurs enter the race for Branthwaite remains to be seen, but given they conceded 61 goals last season Ange Postecoglou could be in the market for defensive reinforcements despite signing Micky van de Ven last summer and Radu Dragusin in January.

Leicester City are interested in signing Tottenham defender Joe Rodon this summer according to reports.

The Foxes won promotion back to the Premier League after winning the Championship title last season, but have lost manager Enzo Maresca to Chelsea.

The club are reportedly close to finalising the appointment of Graham Potter as their new manager, and they can now step up preparations for the new season.

Leicester eye move for Rodon

Leicester’s transfer restrictions have been ended by the Premier League and they can now set about strengthening the squad as they look to ensure they stay in the top flight next season.

Foxes of Leicester have reported that the club are targeting a move for Rodon, who has become an outcast at Tottenham.

Leeds, Ipswich and Southampton are also interested in the Wales international who has just one year left on his contract, and is not part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans in north London.

Rodon was viewed as one of the best defenders in the Championship last season.

The Foxes current have Wout Faes, Jannik Vestergaard, Conor Coady and Harry Souttar among their centre back options, but it’s expected Coady will leave the club, which would free up a place in the squad for the potential signing of Rodon.

Rodon joined Spurs from Championship side Swansea in 2020 and has had loan spells at Stade Rennes in France and Leeds, where he made 50 appearances last season, and was part of the side that finished third and lost in the play-off final.

The 26-year-old has 45 caps for Wales and has made just 24 appearances for Spurs in four seasons.

Leicester have already extended Jamie Vardy’s contract by a further year, and his experience and goal scoring ability could be absolutely crucial to ensuring the Foxes don’t go straight back down to the Championship.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney insists he’s ready for a big move if it were to come this summer, amid interest from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham.

Toney is currently in Germany with the England squad as they prepare for their Euro 2024 opener against Serbia on Sunday.

The 28-year-old returned to action in January following an eight month ban for breaching FA betting rules, and scored four goals in 17 Premier League appearances.

Toney ready for big move

Toney has established himself as a proven goalscorer and scored 20 Premier League goals in the 2022/2023 campaign with only Harry Kane and Erling Haaland scoring more.

The England international is out of contract in 2025 and is expected to leave Brentford this summer, although interest in him appears to have cooled.

The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea were strongly linked with a move for Toney in January, but it’s believed United and Spurs are still interested and could battle it out for the striker’s signature this summer.

Toney insists he’s ready for a big move amid interest from Man United and Spurs.

However, Toney insists his focus is on Brentford, but added it’s nice see his named linked with other clubs.

“I’m a Brentford player,” the striker told talkSPORT.

“I have a year left, going into a major tournament, that is my main focus now.

“But after this, I’ll be going back to Brentford and I will be a Brentford player still.

“It’s nice to be linked with other clubs, but I’ve had this in the past, nothing is done until it’s done.

Toney insisted he would be ready for a big move if it were to come, but stated he needed to remain focused.

“Obviously, if it was to come, I would be ready,” he added.

“But I’ve got to remained focused and not let other things and other noise get the best of me and just focus on what I need to do for my club.”

A good Euros would potentially put Toney on the radar of more clubs, although if Harry Kane remains fit it’s unlikely he will play many minutes with the striker vying for a back up role with Ollie Watkins.

Tottenham Midfielder James Maddison has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s final 26 man squad for Euro 2024.

Maddison had been named in Southgate’s provisional 33 man squad and featured on Monday night against Bosnia and Herzegovina at St James’ Park.

The 27-year-old now won’t play a part in the friendly against Iceland at Wembley on Friday night and has left the training camp.

Maddison not going to Euro 2024

Maddison was part of the England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar although he didn’t feature as England got knocked out in the quarter finals.

Journalist David Ornstein has confirmed Maddison hasn’t made the final squad and is among those cut from the provisional squad.

Ornstein took to X.com and said:

“EXCL: James Maddison not in final England squad for European Championship.

“27yo Tottenham midfielder made preliminary selection & featured vs Bosnia – but among those cut from Gareth Southgate’s 26-man #Euro2024 group + has left camp.”

Southgate has until 7th June to name a final squad of up to 26 players, with a maximum of six more players set to miss out.

Maddison has got seven England caps and made his first start against Ukraine in March last year.

The former Leicester man started the season well for Spurs before suffering an ankle injury which ruled him out for three months, and he scored four goals and provided nine assists from 28 Premier League appearances.

Whilst Maddison will no doubt be gutted, it’s hard to see how he can have any complaints given he didn’t end the season well, and the emergence of the likes of Cole Palmer have pushed the midfielder down the pecking order.

England’s first game of the Euros is against Serbia on 16th June before they face Denmark and Slovakia on the 20th and 25th June to round out the group stage.

Southgate will be hoping to go one better having lost the Euro 2020 final to Italy on penalties.

Ajax striker Brian Brobbey has named north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham among his dream destinations if he were to leave the Dutch giants.

Brobbey scored 18 goals and provided ten assists in 30 Eredivisie appearances last season as Ajax recovered from a dreadful start to finish fifth, 35 points behind Champions PSV Eindhoven.

The 22-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United and is a product of the famous Ajax academy.

Brobbey names Arsenal and Spurs amongst dream destinations

Brobbey has been at Ajax his entire career apart from a loan spell at RB Leipzig between 2021 and 2022.

The Dutchman has made 119 appearances to date for Ajax, scoring 49 goals and providing 19 assists.

Brobbey was asked what his dream destinations would be if he were to leave Ajax and he named two Premier League clubs on his list.

Brobbey scored 22 goals last season for Ajax.

“Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, those are nice clubs,” he told HELDEN Magazine.

“But, if I stay at Ajax, that is certainly not a punishment.”

Arsenal are in the market for a striker as they look for a proven goalscorer to help fire them to a first Premier League title in 21 years next season, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah seemingly not cutting it.

The Gunners have been strongly linked with a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who has a release clause of £55m, but will face stiff competition for the 21-year-old’s signature with rivals Chelsea also interested.

Spurs are also set to be busy and they are believed to be in the market for a striker as they look to ease their reliance on Heung-Min Son, with the club expected to listen to offers for Richarlison this summer.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have already extended Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig for another season and have been linked with moves for Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez as they look to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Tottenham forward Dejan Kulusevski has played down suggestions he could be about to join former manager Antonio Conte at Napoli.

Conte has agreed a three year deal to become Napoli’s next manager with an official announcement expected soon.

The Italian left Spurs in March 2023 and has now been chosen as the man to get Napoli back challenging at the top end of Serie A after a disastrous title defence last season, which saw them finish tenth.

Kulusevski rules out reunion with Conte

Whilst Conte’s reputation in the Premier League may have been damaged by his spell in north London he is still highly regarded in Italy.

The 54-year old has won the Serie A title on four occasions across spells at Inter Milan and Juventus, but has a reputation for falling out with the higher ups if he isn’t given what he wants, especially in the transfer market.

Conte likes to be backed with signings and following his imminent arrival in Naples he has been linked with a move for a number of his former Spurs players.

Kulusevski has played down reports of a reunion with Conte at Napoli.

Kulusevski and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have been earmarked as potential targets, whilst defender Radu Dragusin who only arrived from Italy in January has been linked with a return back to Serie A.

When asked about the links to Napoli Kulusevski said he didn’t know anything about it, but admitted it would be good to see Conte him back in football.

“I don’t know anything about that, I have heard that Conte is going there,” he told Aftonbladet.

“It will be fun to see him there, to see him back in football.”

The Sweden international joined Spurs from Italian side Juventus in 2023 after initially joining the club on loan, and has gone on to make 96 appearances to date, scoring 15 goals and providing 19 assists.

Tottenham are looking to sign a new centre forward this summer and have drawn up a five man shortlist according to reports.

Ange Postecoglou arrived from Celtic last summer and guided Spurs to a fifth placed finish and Europa League football in his first season in charge.

Spurs lost Harry Kane last summer, and didn’t replace the England captain, and instead deployed Heung-Min Son down the middle with Richarlison used as an alternative.

Tottenham have five man striker shortlist

Son did well last season and scored 17 goals and provided ten assists from 35 appearances in the Premier League, but if Spurs are going to get back into the Champions League they need will need to add more firepower.

Spurs have already extended Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig for another season, but still need to try and replace Kane.

Richarlison had his season disrupted by injury, and despite scoring 11 Premier League goals last season, he’s largely failed to live up to expectations following his £60m move from Everton in 2022.

Spurs were reliant on Son to be their main source of goals last season.

GIVEMESPORT report the names on the Spurs shortlist are PSV Eindhoven’s Santiago Gimenez , Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, Lois Openda of RB Leipzig and Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres.

Toney is the only striker on the list with Premier League experience, whilst Guirassy represents the best value for money with a release clause of just £15m.

Gyokeres would command a big transfer fee and has a release clause of around £85m, whilst Openda and Gimenez are regarded as two of the best young strikers in Europe.

Spurs do have some great attacking options in their squad with the likes of Son, Werner, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.

If Postecoglou is backed by Daniel Levy and they bring the right name in Spurs could cause problems next season, and they would have every chance of getting back in the Champions League and challenging for trophies.
