Ange Postecoglou will be readying his Tottenham stars for their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea knowing that it’s the end of the road at the club for certain players.

If there’s one thing that has characterised the Australian’s time in charge of the North London outfit, it’s his straight talking and honesty.

Should reporters ask questions he doesn’t like, he’ll let them know about it. It’s clear that he doesn’t suffer fools gladly and from the outside looking in, he appears to have that aura which all great managers do.

It’s easy to see why his players are happy to buy into his philosophy, and after the histrionics of the Mourinho and Conte tenures, not to mention their stale brand of football, Tottenham’s long-suffering fans were almost certainly delighted by acquiring a no-nonsense manager who let his football do the talking for him.

Sergio Reguilon and Bryan Gil have been left at home by Tottenham

The tour will arguably give one or two fringe players the chance to stake their claim for a more permanent employment in Postecoglou’s starting XI, whilst helping others get somewhere close to approaching full match fitness.

For two of Tottenham’s ball playing exponents, however, being left at home signifies the end of the road for them at the club.

Bryan Gil will almost certainly leave Tottenham this summer along with Sergio Reguilon
Bryan Gil will almost certainly leave Tottenham this summer along with Sergio Reguilon

According to The Standard (subscription required), both Bryan Gil and Sergio Reguilon will be expected to look for new clubs whilst their current employers are on tour.

Gil’s silky skills wouldn’t look out of place in any midfield, whilst Reguilon’s marauding forays down the left side are surely likely to find a home before the first whistle sounds to signify the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

Tottenham winger Bryan Gil is expected to leave the Premier League club this summer and the Spaniard’s exit from the North London outfit is getting closer.

The 23-year-old has been with Tottenham since 2021 but has failed to establish himself in the Spurs starting 11 since then. The winger spent time on loan with Valencia and Sevilla during this period, but none of these experiences helped his chances in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou allowed Gil to stick around last season but the Spanish star only received 233 minutes of action across 12 appearances.

The former Sevilla talent was expected to leave Spurs before the current transfer window opened up and that looks like it is closer to becoming a reality as Girona have shown an interest in the Tottenham player.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the La Liga club have opened talks with Tottenham to get a deal for Gil done. Initial discussions have already taken place over a permanent deal and it remains to be seen how the transfer progresses from here or if any other clubs join the race.

The 2024/25 campaign is huge for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham

Selling players such as Gil is important for Tottenham as it helps raise funds to bring in new additions to Postecoglou’s squad. The Australian coach has cleared out some of his fringe players ahead of the new campaign with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg another star close to an exit.

Spurs have only signed Archie Gray from Leeds United this summer but more talent is expected to follow. The Premier League outfit are in need of a striker as they never replaced Harry Kane following his move to Bayern Munich last summer. It remains to be seen who the English team move for with Brentford’s Ivan Toney one man linked to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Last season saw the North London club improve under Postecoglou and the Australian coach’s team will hope to make more progress during the upcoming campaign as Champions League football has to be the goal.

Tottenham plan on selling Djed Spence and Bryan Gil this summer having both failed to make an impression on the North London club’s manager Ange Postecoglou.

The defender arrived at Spurs from Middlesbrough in 2022 but has only gone on to feature six times for the Premier League club, amassing just 41 minutes of action. The full-back spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Leeds United in the Championship before joining Italian side Genoa temporarily in January.

The 23-year-old will be moved on this summer, reports Football Insider, as the defender has failed to impress Postecoglou.

The same goes for Bryan Gil, who was part of the Australian coach’s squad this term. However, the Spaniard received only 233 minutes of action across 12 appearances in all competitions.

When the transfer window opens, Tottenham will listen to offers for both players as they can use the funds to strengthen their squad ahead of a big campaign for the North London side.

Tottenham need to support Ange Postecoglou this summer

Although Tottenham fans will be disappointed having missed out on Champions League football for next season, the 2023/24 campaign had a lot of positives.

Spurs played some of the best football seen at the North London club for years and Postecoglou has a lot to build on for next season. However, the Australia coach will need support over the summer and should the former Celtic boss have his squad strengthened with some key players, Tottenham should take a step forward next term.

It remains to be seen if Daniel Levy will spend big during the upcoming transfer window but selling stars like Spence and Gil, will increase the budget for new additions.

Tottenham could have a very busy summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel as he looks ahead to a major pre-season of changes at the north London club.

Although Romano insists Ange Postecoglou is happy and staying at the club, with Spurs also happy with the project he’s building, it seems the Australian tactician will be given some license to make sweeping changes to his squad ahead of next season.

According to Romano, as many as ten players could leave Tottenham, including senior players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and others who’ve been loaned out, like Sergio Reguilon and Djed Spence.

It’s not yet clear who could come in at Spurs, but Romano mentions that Timo Werner’s loan being made permanent is still something the club need to decide on, so it’s not yet known if he’ll be one of the players leaving, or, in making his loan move permanent, one of the new players coming in.

See the video below for details from Romano…

THFC fans will surely be pretty happy with this update, as it sounds like Postecoglou is going to be backed to build this squad more in his own image.

The former Celtic boss made a great start when he took over last summer, but the second half of the season was less consistent, and it seems there are more than a few issues that need ironing out.

While some fans might feel it’s worth thinking about a change of manager again, it’s more likely that Postecoglou has it in him to do something very positive with this team, as long as he’s given a bit more time and a bit more control over how the squad is built.

One imagines we’ll see more specific names linked with Spurs in the weeks ahead, and it will be interesting to see what they can come up with to try to get back into the top four next season.

Man Utd to cash in on Greenwood, well informed on Olise

I already reported that Man United are prepared to cash in on Mason Greenwood and the situation hasn’t changed.

Man United will wait for permanent transfer proposals because the priority is a sale in order to make profit for Financial Fair Play, although Getafe still hope to keep him on loan.

Let’s see what’s also going to happen guys with Michael Olise, the talented player at Crystal Palace who was close to a Chelsea move in August.

Chelsea had him as a priority target but Crystal Palace were able to do a fantastic job to keep the player at the club and extend this contract with a new release clause of around £60m.

Manchester United are very well informed about that since January and Olise is one of the players they have on their shortlist.

They still haven’t started concrete conversations to sign the player so it’s not an advanced negotiation at this stage, but for sure United, and also other clubs, are closely monitoring the situation.

All change at Tottenham this summer

Ange Postecoglou has mentioned in media interviews that things need to change, and there will be exits in the summer at Tottenham for sure.

Some players like Hojbjerg, Lo Celso and Bryan Gil could leave the club but final clarity will be made in a meeting expected at the end of the season with the manager also involved.

That moment will be crucial to clarify the final list of names.

Koopmeiners is Juve top target, no info on Slot reunion

Guys, despite rumours that are in the Italian media, I’ve zero information on a reunion for Arne Slot and Teun Koopmeiners at Liverpool at this point.

In case the Reds will move for Koopmeiners I will update you on that, but no movements so far.

Juventus have Koopmeiners as one of their top targets for the summer transfer window but that information is not new; we said that since February.

Thiago Silva will return to Fluminense

Thiago Silva has made a decision on his future and has decided to return to Fluminense. It’s big news guys.

Everything started fantastically for Thiago Silva in 1998 at Fluminense, then he left the club in 2009 to join AC Milan then Paris Saint-Germain…

A fantastic story with Chelsea has shown him to be one of the best defenders in the world in recent years, but it’s important to say that now Thiago is prepared to return home.

Thiago Silva

There is a verbal agreement on a two-year contract till 2026, and contracts are being prepared, documents are being prepared but they are not signed yet. According to my information this will probably be in the third week of May.

So, let’s be patient and wait for Thiago Silva to sign in as a new Fluminense player, which will be brilliant for the Brazilian club.

As a result, Chelsea are looking for a new centre-back and will bring in one for sure. I don’t like to put random names, so as soon as I’ll be aware of the player they want to sign, I’ll share the name.

At the moment it’s still too early to mention that as Chelsea have not decided anything.

No doubts over David Raya’s permanent move to Arsenal

Many Arsenal fans are asking me about Mikel Arteta’s reply in his press conference about David Raya – congratulations to him, the Golden Glove of the Premier League.

All I’m told is that despite Arteta saving in public that everything will be decided at the end of the season, for David Raya I’m told the decision was already made in November.

David Raya

The verbal agreement between Brentford and Arsenal was for a permanent transfer but because of Financial Fair Play, Arsenal and Brentford agreed on a loan deal with a buy option clause.

There are no doubts. David Raya already agreed his contract with Arsenal who will pay £27m to Brentford at the end of the season.

Sticking with Arsenal, I spoke yesterday about Gabriel Jesus and Arsenal’s striker targets. Guys, every week there’s a new name linked but the reality is that nothing is concrete yet at this stage.

They’ve been following many players like Gyokeres and Sesko, but nothing is advanced or close at this point and, as I said, I can guarantee that as long as Arsenal are in the title race, they will not be distracted by any transfer rumour.

Sergi Roberto to sign a new deal with Barcelona

Sergi Roberto is not leaving Barcelona. The first step since Xavi decided to stay at Barcelona as coach will be to extend the contract of Sergi Roberto.

We know in terms of the signing that Barca are working on the legal agreements and they’re well advanced but not signed yet, and we told you about this deal exactly the day after Xavi decided to stay.

Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto

Now the verbal agreement is almost there, everything is almost done, it’s just a matter of some final details to be clarified.

I’m told that in the next days, could be next week, that Sergi Roberto, his agents and Barça will clarify the details.

Nacho has a concrete possibility to move to MLS as he waves goodbye to Real Madrid

Let me confirm what we said 10 days ago… Nacho is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. The plan is clear.

It was already verbally communicated to Real Madrid by Nacho some weeks ago and the club are now waiting for an official written communication from Nacho.

He wants to go on a free transfer to try a different chapter and he already received some approaches from La Liga sides. Since last summer he has been one of the players wanted by Inter too, but Nacho doesn’t want to play in Europe because he doesn’t want to face Real Madrid. He has too much respect for the club of his life.

He will probably play abroad, with MLS a concrete possibility, though it’s not the only option open to him. Let’s see what he decides.

Real Madrid waiting for green light from Lunin

Remember the contract extension for Andriy Lunin guys, because we already said last month that Real Madrid were preparing a contract proposal, everything was ready to be sent to the player…

Now, Real presented a new deal proposal for Andriy Lunin that has also been shared with the new agent of the player, the super agent Jorge Mendes.

They want to extend his contract – his current deal expires in summer 25 – as they believe Lunin can be part of the future of the club.

It’s up to the player to give the final green light but Real Madrid want to get it underway.

Atletico Madrid could sell four strikers

There are lots of rumours concerning the striker situation at Atletico Madrid but let me tell you guys that there’s no update on Alvaro Morata so far, Joao Felix is expected to leave for sure again with Barca still an option, Angel Correa’s situation depends on the proposals as he was close to an Al Ittihad move in January and Memphis Depay’s situation will be clarified at the end of the season.

Although things have been incredibly positive under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur this season, the cracks are beginning to appear after some recent defeats.

The normally affable Australian has begun to snap at reporters during interviews, and it’s clear that the inability to qualify for the Champions League – unless there’s a huge turnaround over the final few games – has begun to grate.

Players that have provided solidity throughout the campaign have slowly but surely gone off the boil, and Spurs look to be wading through treacle at times.

Tottenham will sell multiple stars this summer

The verve and effervescence of the opening few months of the campaign has been replaced by nervousness and an overly careful rather than carefree way of playing.

Postecoglou has been heard in recent interviews to suggest that there needs to be big changes in the squad, and it certainly seems as if he’s going to make good on that announcement.

“Ange Postecoglou has mentioned in media interviews that things need to change, and there will be exits in the summer at Tottenham for sure,” Fabrizio Romano said to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing.

Tottenham will have a clear out of players this summer
Giovani Lo Celso is likely to be one of the players sold by Tottenham

“Some players like Hojbjerg, Lo Celso and Bryan Gil could leave the club but final clarity will be made in a meeting expected at the end of the season with the manager also involved.

“That moment will be crucial to clarify the final list of names.”

Whilst that might not come as any surprise to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful, whom the club decide to bring in will be of huge interest to them.

The fans will have believed that, finally, the club were really onto something special with Postocoglou, and not for nothing were they routinely singing his name at matches.

That spark has definitely disappeared, however, and the fear must be that the club will continue to just amble along as they have in previous seasons.

If the manager’s apparent anger in press conferences and the like is repeated in the dressing room, then he’s clearly not going to allow that to happen.

Once it has been decided exactly who will be leaving the club, Postecoglou can sit down with Daniel Levy and see which targets the club are able to sign for him, and who will be able to help the club go that little bit further in 2024/25.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Bryan Gil has reportedly told Ange Postecoglou that he wants to leave in the upcoming summer transfer window.

After their disappointing 2-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge during the week, Spurs’ chances at qualifying for the Champions League are in complete jeopardy.

Even if Ange Postecoglou’s side win their game in hand, they will still be four points behind Aston Villa with just three games to go and they are still yet to play both Liverpool and Manchester City.

Whether or not the Australian manager is able to finish inside the top four, fans expect the club to back him in the upcoming transfer market and let him decide who comes and goes.

Bryan Gil asks to leave Tottenham

Now according to a report from Spanish outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla, midfielder Gil has told Postecoglou that he wants to leave in the summer window after an underwhelming spell in North London.

The 23-year-old arrived from Sevilla in 2021 but despite showing good signs initially, has failed to cement a permanent spot in the squad.

The Spanish international returned on loan to La Liga on different loan spells, a league which he is far more suited to due to his general lack of physicality.

The report claims that it is his former side Sevilla who wants to re-sign the player but may face competition from Feyenoord.

With the additions of James Maddison and Brennan Johnson, there seems to be no chance of Gil breaking back into the squad.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old winger has struggled for regular game time at the North London club with just two starts in the league this season and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time. A move away from Tottenham would be ideal for all parties. The North London outfit need to bring in attacking reinforcements and the proceeds from his departure will help them improve the squad.

The Spaniard has been linked with a return to his former club Sevilla at the end of the season and a report from Estadio Deportivo claims that he is prepared to reject other clubs in order to return to Spain with Sevilla.

Bryan Gil wants to leave Tottenham for Sevilla.
Bryan Gil will almost certainly leave Tottenham this summer

Bryan Gil available on a bargain

Tottenham have reportedly set an asking price of around €7-8 million. Gil was regarded as one of the finest young prospects in Spanish football before he moved to the Premier League, and the reported asking price could prove to be a major bargain for him.

He has plenty of time to get his career back on track with regular football and he could develop into a key player for Sevilla in the coming seasons. He will add flair, creativity, and goals from the flanks. He is versatile enough tp operate in the central attacking midfield role as well.

It will be interesting to see if Sevilla are prepared to pay the asking price for him at the end of the season. They will need to improve their attacking unit in the summer and the 23-year-old seems like the ideal acquisition.

Clubs like Feyenoord and Real Sociedad are keen on signing the talented young winger as well, but the player is clearly intent on a return to his former club. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few weeks.

As the end of the season approaches, so attention will turn to the summer transfer window, and a move for one Tottenham outcast could well have implications in Liverpool’s manager search.

Ange Postecoglou appears to have got most things right in the blue and white half of north London this season, and with a few games left to go there’s still a chance of the Lilywhites qualifying for the Champions League next season.

That would absolutely show progress from Tottenham’s point of view, and allow the club a platform from which to build.

Tottenham ace could move to Feyenoord

Making the right moves in the summer would also help propel the club forward.

One player that’s almost certain to miss out on that is outcast Bryan Gil. The young Spaniard hasn’t had a look in of late, and The Standard note that he hasn’t started a game since December.

To that end, moving him on at the end of the season appears to be a no brainer, and one club that have shown a clear interest in him are Feyenoord.

Managed by Arne Slot, the Dutch side are once again flying high in the Eredivisie, and it’s clear that the manager admires the skill set of the talented 23-year-old.

Feyenoord want Tottenham ace Bryan Gil
Bryan Gil will almost certainly leave Tottenham this summer

“The fact that we are in the race for Gil has been the case for several transfer windows,” Feyenoord’s director, Dennis te Kloese, said to Algemeen Dagblad (h/t The Standard).

“We are looking again at what is possible. We offer a fantastic platform to give boys a good continuation of their career. Or to show themselves again. Gil is a good player, but there are many more clubs that are looking at that boy.”

Transfer expert and CaughtOffside columnist, Fabrizio Romano, notes on X (formerly Twitter), however, that Slot is the new managerial target for Liverpool.

To that end, a move for Gil would make little sense unless the Dutch giants were actually planning ahead in the eventuality that their current managerial set up would shortly be changing.

For the time being, the status quo remains as is, and the next few weeks should give everyone a chance to assess the current situation and how to effectively move forward.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil is seeking a departure from North London this summer due to limited playing time in the ongoing campaign.

The youngster has spent most of his time watching Spurs’ games from the sidelines, having started only 2 games out of his 10 Premier League appearances and playing a total of just 189 minutes. (Transfermarkt)

Gil has not even been named in the squad for 7 of the last 9 league fixtures, indicating that he is not part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans and may be on the verge of leaving this summer.

According to sources from GIVEMESPORT, the 23-year-old is seeking clarity on his future as he aims to depart from the Lilywhites, with the club also open to facilitating his permanent move elsewhere.

Tottenham secured the services of Gil from Sevilla in the summer of 2021, completing the transfer for a fee of £21 million.

Despite his promising talent, the young forward has failed to live up to expectations in North London, primarily due to a lack of opportunities, coupled with loan spells and injuries.

Feyenoord has shown strong interest in acquiring Gil’s talents in the upcoming summer transfer window on a permanent deal, and Spurs would be open to negotiating with the Dutch club as they do not see the winger fitting into their plans.
