Tottenham Hotspur crashed to a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Fulham in the Premier League last night.
The result will come as a major blow for Tottenham in the race for Champions League qualification.
Meanwhile, former manager Tim Sherwood has now highlighted the poor performance of midfielder Yves Bissouma during the game. Sherwood also pointed out that Ryan Mason, who is a part of the Tottenham coaching staff, highlighted during the game that Bissouma was leaving spaces for Fulham players to exploit during the game.
His poor positional play allowed Fulham to take advantage and score their second goal of the game.
“You can’t leave the middle of the park like that,” Sherwood told Premier League Productions (16/03/24 at 7:45 pm).
“Maddison is too advanced forward. Bissouma is nowhere to be seen and is over this side. Sarr is over this side.
“He has got the whole park to himself. He (Ryan Mason) is pointing it out because it’s obvious to everyone. The boys have to recognise that on the pitch. The manager can’t do everything.”
The 27-year-old is undoubtedly a key player for Tottenham and he has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the league. However, his performance was below par against Fulham and it remains to be seen whether he can bounce back strongly.
Tottenham will need their key players in top form if they want to secure Champions League qualification and Bissouma is certainly an important member of the starting lineup. He will be aware of his mediocre performance and he will be determined to bounce back strongly in the upcoming matches.
