Heung-min Son shared a wonderful moment with some young mascots before the QPR game yesterday.

The club played their third pre-season friendly, beating QPR 2-0. Yves Bissouma gave Ange’s side a 1-0 lead in the first half and young striker Dane Scarlett made it 2-0 near the end of the game, scoring a tap in from close range from a wonderful Mikey Moore assist.

Before the kick-off, So stood next to the young mascots who were left in awe at the presence of their idol.

Their expressions said it all as they greeted the South Korean, some even giving him a hug. And Son, the brilliant human being that he is, kindly reciprocated with as he met them all with a big smile, making sure it is a memorable day for them.

Back at the start of the year when Ivan Toney had just returned to the Brentford starting line-up after his ban, the chatter appeared to be that it was a foregone conclusion that the 28-year-old would be heading to Germany with England.

His four goals in his opening five games, per WhoScored, only strengthened that notion.

Paying top dollar for his services if he was going to move on from West London also didn’t necessarily appear to be out of the question.

Since that purple patch in late January/early February, however, the striker has gone right off the boil.

Ivan Toney’s value slashed by half

To that end his transfer fee will have been revised significantly as Thomas Frank will know that the club can no longer market him as a £100m player, which they were back in November according to Sky Sports.

He’d arguably be nearer the £40m-£50m bracket nowadays, and with Tottenham Hotspur apparently looking for a striker, there’s a possibility that Toney could fit the bill.

However, rumours linking the Lilywhites with the Bees hit-man appear wide of the mark, at least for now.

Tottenham might be interested in signing Brentford's Ivan Toney
Ivan Toney to Tottenham?

“Although it’s expected that Tottenham will sign a striker this summer, there’s no concrete update yet on Ivan Toney, despite reports,” Fabrizio Romano said to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing.

“He might be one of the strikers being considered at Spurs but no final decision on their top target has been made yet.

“Tottenham’s priority was to decide what to do with Timo Werner, and now they will move into next targets.”

If Spurs were able to acquire Toney for a reasonable market value, there’s no reason why he couldn’t resurrect his career under Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian has shown that he can motivate his players to play some brilliant football, and arguably Toney is a better marksman than Richarlison has been for the North Londoners.

With James Maddison providing a supplementary attacking presence and the likes of Timo Werner and Heung Min-son alongside, Toney should find goals easy to come by if he moves to North London.

Time will tell if the club consider him to be the right man for the job moving forward.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright said his life “flashed in front of him” when Heung-Min Son went through on goal against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

The Gunners head into the final day of the season with a chance of winning their first Premier League title for 20 years, but will need to beat Everton and hope Manchester City slip up against West Ham.

Whatever happens on Sunday it has been another impressive season for the Gunners who have pushed City all the way, something very few teams are capable of.

Wright explains his reaction to Son’s miss

Arsenal’s destiny could have been in their own hands had rivals Tottenham managed to take points off City on Tuesday, but Pep Guardiola’s men ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a brace from Erling Haaland.

However, with the score at 1-0 there was a potential title defining moment when Son went through on goal, only to be denied by Stefan Ortega who had come on for Ederson.

You would have put your house on the Spurs captain to hit the back of net, and the end result could have been very different.

Son has scored 17 league goals this season but missed a huge chance against City.

Wright has been speaking on that miss and stated the 31-year-old was the one player he would have wanted that chance to fall to.

‘When Son went through something happened to me”, Wright said on his podcast Wrighty’s House.

“It happened so quickly as well, I didn’t have time to realise the enormity of the chance that was about to be spurned.

“From the time he got the ball to the time his shot was saved, my life flashed in front of me!

“Son was the one person in that Spurs team who you would want it to fall to so I thought it was happening, and then he missed.

“It slowly started to compute in my mind what had happened, that was it, that was the moment!”

City will become the first team in history not to win the title having been top on the final day if they miss out to the Gunners.

Jose Mourinho has named one of his former Tottenham players as good enough to play for Manchester City.

The Portuguese manager feels Spurs have a player who can play for the top clubs in the world competing for the biggest honours.

Mourinho is currently unemployed after getting sacked by Roma at the beginning of the year.

The former Porto manager has been linked with a move back to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen where his next move will be.

The manager praised Tottenham star Heung-min Son and feels that he could get into the Man City team.

Pep Guardiola’s team is not short of world class players and they have quality in their squad in every single position.

The self proclaimed ‘Special One’ feels that Son can play for the Premier League champions and every other team who is fighting for the biggest trophies.

On the Korean YouTube channel EA Sports FC, Mourinho recently recorded an interview.

Speaking of Son, he expressed his immense regard, even going so far as to suggest that Son is good enough to play for great teams like Man City.

Tottenham Premier League Jose Mourinho Heung-min Son
Son has been a huge hit at Tottenham.

He said: “I don’t look at Son as a Korean player. I look at Son as one of the best players in the world. Maybe Tottenham supporters are not going to be happy with what I’m going to say, it’s not disrespectful.

“He could win titles, he could play for the best teams. He could be playing in England for Man City, for Liverpool, for Chelsea. It could be abroad playing for one of the top teams.

“He has that modern mobility of the attacking players. He can play through the middle, from the sides, wide to coming inside.”

Son was managed by Mourinho at Tottenham for two years

Mourinho acknowledged that Son had been contacted by other teams when he was in charge of Spurs.

The former Chelsea manager managed Tottenham frm 2019 to 2021.

His spell at the Tottenham Stadium was uninspiring after his failure at Manchester United.

Mourinho is still looking to prove himself again at the top level with a return to Premier League football being mentioned in the media.

Tottenham staged a late rally against Liverpool, scoring twice in the final 20 minutes to apply pressure on the Reds, although they ultimately fell short in a 4-2 defeat.

Liverpool dominated the majority of the game, with Salah giving them the lead inside 15 minutes, and Robertson doubled that lead right before half-time.

They kicked off the second half just as strongly, with two quick goals. Cody Gakpo made it 3-0 with a lovely header in the 50th minute, before Harvey Elliott scored a stunner from outside the box to make it 4-0.

However, the changes from Ange made a difference. Richarlison came on and was a menace for the Liverpool defence since. He found the back of the net in the 72nd minute and then turned provider 5 minutes later.

Oliver Skipp received the pass on the edge of the box and picks him out with a great pass.

The 28-year-old then showed brilliant awareness to lay it for Son who fired the ball into the back of the net to narrow the deficit.

Watch the goal below:

It was all Tottenham in the final 15 minutes with Spurs also being denied what could have been a penalty for a high boot on Brennan Johnson from Joe Gomez.

In the end, Liverpool managed to weather the storm, holding on to their two-goal lead to secure a 4-2 victory.

Tottenham suffered a damaging defeat to Arsenal as they looked to close the gap on Aston Villa in the race for the top four.

Spurs had the chance to boost their Champions League hopes and dent Arsenal’s title charge, but instead they paid the price for an awful first half display which ultimately cost Ange Postecoglou’s side the game.

Poor defending allowed the Gunners to race into a 3-0 half time lead, and all but put the game out of reach for Spurs.

Postecoglou’s men put up more of a fight in the second half, and managed to set up a nervy finish  thanks to goals from Cristian Romero and a penalty from Son.

They couldn’t find an equaliser and Son admitted after the game he was very disappointed, and said him and his team-mates have to do better.

The defeat means Spurs are now seven points behind Villa in fourth, having played two games less, and it looks like the race for Champions League football will go down to the wire.

Son-Heung Min has admitted he feels pressure to replace Harry Kane’s goals for Tottenham.

The Spurs captain has scored 15 goals this season and provided nine assists as Ange Postecoglou’s side aim to get back into the Champions League next season.

Postecoglou’s side dropped out of the top four on goal difference after being thrashed 4-0 by Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

Son feels the pressure to replace Kane’s goals

Kane left for German giants Bayern Munich last summer in the pursuit of winning trophies, having scored 280 goals for Tottenham.

The 31-year-old is now the go to man for Tottenham in terms of goalscoring and has admitted he feels the pressure.

Son has scored 15 goals this season for Spurs.

“I think everybody wants to step up, especially when Harry left the club obviously”, Son said in quotes picked up by Mail Sport.

“When he’s happy here, 30 goals is guaranteed, but who is going to make it the 30 goals for for this club?

“I do love the pressure, because when you play in in a Premier League, you have to get this pressure to improve yourself.”

The South Korea international also revealed that he was a big fan of James Maddison before the England international joined the club last summer for £40m from Leicester City.

“Before he joined Spurs I actually loved him because I liked this type of player who’s making a game with his quality.

“I think creating chances, scoring goals, make those runs, I want to make him an even better player but he has a bright bright future.”

Son joined Spurs from German side Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and has gone on to make 401 appearances and score 83 goals for the north London outfit.

The forward is yet to win a trophy with Spurs, and will be desperate to get his hands on some silverware having lost a Champions League and League Cup final with the club.

Tottenham are the latest Premier League club to enter the race for Algerian striker Mohamed Amoura this summer.

Amoura has impressed for Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise this season, and has scored 17 goals in 23 games.

Spurs are reportedly looking to add depth to their forward line as the north London club still don’t have adequate back up for Heung-Min Son following the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer.

Mohamed Amoura heading to the Premier League?

The 23-year-old is currently under contract until 2027, but GIVEMESPORT report that Tottenham are the latest Premier League club to declare interest in the Algerian.

Spurs remain firmly in the race for Champions League qualification and securing a place in next season’s competition could give them the edge over their rivals in the race for Amoura’s signature.

Amoura is attracting interest from the Premier League.

The report adds that fellow Premier League clubs Wolves and West Ham are keeping an eye on the forward’s progress as he continues to impress this season.

West Ham have ageing options across their front line, which includes the likes of Danny Ings and Michail Antonio, whilst Wolves have suffered injuries to their front three this season and could lose star man Pedro Neto this summer.

The potential signing of Amoura could offer vital squad depth to Ange Postecoglou’s side, with Richarlison currently seen as the next best option behind Son, while it remains to be seen if Timo Werner’s loan move will be made permanent.

Amoura could be targeted as a new front man to come in and learn from Son, and the Algerian is reportedly considered as the best talent from the country since Riyad Mahrez.

Spurs had always struggled to find striking options when searching for an understudy to Kane and it appears the club are now encountering the same issues with Son.

Perhaps a young striker with hunger and a point to prove could be the way forward, and Amoura definitely ticks those boxes.

Heung-min Son condemned Tottenham Hotspur’s “unacceptable” display in their loss to Fulham, where Rodrigo Muniz netted twice in Fulham’s 3-0 triumph at Craven Cottage.

Rodrigo Muniz’s goals, along with Sasa Lukic’s second-half strike, sealed Fulham’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur. The lackluster performance from Tottenham cost them the opportunity to climb to fourth place in the Premier League standings.

The loss to Fulham followed a week after their convincing 4-0 victory over Aston Villa, during which Heung-min Son was among the scorers, ultimately squashing any type of momentum they gained from that result.

The South Korean international commented on his teams disastrous away display on Saturday evening.

Heung-min Son on Tottenham’s performance at Fulham

Speaking to Sky Sports, Son explained: “It is very disappointing and very frustrating. Everybody has to look in the mirror and say ‘it is my fault’.

“It was not good enough. We didn’t put in the effort we have put in this season. The performance, the attitude, was not good enough. Everyone needs a big wake-up call.”

“This was not close to what we have been doing this season. It is very sad to watch this. The fans don’t deserve this. They are coming here with positive energy and good vibes. Losing this was very tough. The players are very down,” he added.

Spurs still trails the top four by two points, but the gap could widen to five if Aston Villa defeat West Ham on Sunday afternoon. Manager Ange Postecoglou declined to discuss his team’s prospects of finishing in the top four.

The Australian manager sarcastically told Sky Sports after the Fulham game: “it’s all over.”

Tottenham celebrated a significant victory against Aston Villa last week, narrowing the points gap to just 2 with a game in hand, thanks to an outstanding performance from club captain Heung-min Son.

Son not only scored a goal but also provided two assists, playing a pivotal role in Spurs’ 4-0 win.

However, a new footage circulating on X has caught attention, showing an incident involving Son and his teammate Guglielmo Vicario during the game.

In the 84th minute, Vicario courageously blocked a shot from Zaniolo, resulting in an injury as the Aston Villa player landed on him. Medical staff rushed to attend to Vicario, who appeared to suffer a blow to his head.

What happened between Son and Vicario?

The now viral footage shows Son urging Vicario to leave the pitch due to the head injury, but Vicario insisted on staying on.

Son, visibly frustrated, approached Vicario and appeared to punch him on the shoulders in a moment of agitation. Bissouma, witnessing the scene, intervened and pulled Son away.

Watch below:

Fortunately, Vicario was able to get back on his feet after a few minutes. Following the match, both players embraced, with Vicario even kissing Son on the forehead, indicating no hard feelings between them.
