The post Tottenham could move for £60m-rated star instead of England international appeared first on CaughtOffside.
]]>Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.
He is expected to join a big club this summer and the likes of Tottenham Hotspur are keen on him. According to Ben Jacobs on Give Me Sport, Tottenham are monitoring his situation and they might prefer to move for him instead of Eberechi Eze.
He said: “Palace still want to hang on to Eze, and Spurs could instead turn their attention to Pedro Neto. Wolves are slightly more willing sellers at the right price, but there won’t be much difference in the ballpark fee.”
The Portuguese international winger is likely to cost around £60 million, and it will be interesting to see if the Premier League club is willing to pay up for him.
Tottenham need to add more quality and depth in the wide areas and Neto would be a superb acquisition. He has proven himself in the Premier League and he could make an instant impact at the North London club. He will add pace, flair and goals from the wide areas. The 24-year-old could prove to be an upgrade on Dejan Kulusevski, who had a mediocre campaign last year.
Spurs need a dynamic attacker who can slot into multiple roles and improve them going forward. Neto certainly fits the profile.
However, the reported £60 million asking price could be a major problem for any club hoping to sign him. The likes of Tottenham will hope to sign him for a reasonable amount of money and it remains to be seen whether Wolves are ready to lower their demands.
The 24-year-old will want to join a club capable of pushing for major trophies and he will hope that Wolves sanction his departure this summer, especially if Spurs come calling.

]]>Aston Villa have made a shock enquiry for Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski as a potential replacement for Moussa Diaby, according to reports.
France international Diaby has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, with Italian journalist Rudy Galetti reporting that Villa and Al Ittihad have already agreed terms, while the player has reached a verbal agreement.
That will leave Unai Emery in serious need of a high-quality winger after he guided Aston Villa to Champions League qualification.
One such name to have been whispered has been Spain’s Euro 2024 star Nico Williams, although his high wage demands look to have put Villa off.
It looks like Villa will fail in their attempts to sign Willams, but Spurs winger Kulusevski has emerged as another potential replacement for Diaby.
According to a report from Football Transfers (via TBR), Villa have contacted Spurs regarding a possible move for Kulusevski this summer.
However, it’s understood there is no pressure for Tottenham to sell the Sweden international, who still has four years left to run on his contract.
Kulusevski joined Spurs on loan from Juventus for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign and the whole of the following season. That loan was made permanent for £25m (via BBC Sport) in the summer of 2023.
The 24-year-old has so far notched 15 goals and 19 assists in 96 appearances across all competitions for the Lilywhites, becoming a fan favourite thanks to his creativity and high work rate.
But despite his popularity and Tottenham’s strong negotiating position, Football Transfers’ report also states that the London club have begun discussions to sign Portugal international Pedro Neto from Wolves this summer — potentially boosting Villa’s chances of landing Kulusevski.

]]>The post Exclusive: Exciting double deal will cost Tottenham €120m appeared first on CaughtOffside.
]]>Tottenham Hotspur are set to make their moves in the transfer market, but a potential double deal is going to set them back €120m according to CaughtOffside sources.
With Daniel Levy known to be careful with the club’s money, that sort of outlay will be a big ask from Ange Postecoglou, however, if the Lilywhites want to be considered amongst the English top-flight’s elite, sooner or later a big splash in the transfer market will need to be made.
CaughtOffside sources with knowledge of Tottenham’s transfer plans have indicated that the club remain interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 24-year-old Portuguese winger, Pedro Neto, and Crystal Palace’s 26-year-old England international, Eberechi Eze.
Indeed, the North London outfit are known to have checked on the current situation of both players, and have received information regarding salary and other details required to complete a deal via their agents.
Neto has established himself as a key player for Wolves, and whilst it doesn’t appear that he is angling for a move away, he is open to leaving should the right offer come in to tempt the Midlands-based outfit.
Eze has already seen Michael Olise depart from Crystal Palace, and with Marc Guehi enjoying a brilliant European Championship despite England’s failure, he too could leave Selhurst Park this summer.
Palace will surely be loathe to then lose Eze too, however, as part of a €120m double deal, the South Londoners may concede that getting market value or higher for their player would offer Oliver Glasner the opportunity to rebuild the Eagles and turn them into a real force in the Premier League.
Sources also indicate that Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are waiting in the wings and following developments, though any initial interest hasn’t yet been followed up.

]]>The post Paul Mitchell working to sign marquee striker for Newcastle now appeared first on CaughtOffside.
]]>Newcastle United have gone through some changes at the club this summer.
The Magpies have lost Sporting Director Dan Ashworth to Manchester United and with the arrival of Paul Mitchell at the club, they are actively looking to make new signings and address issues in their squad.
Eddie Howe’s team had a difficult season last time out and they failed to make it to any European competition.
Next season, they will have only the league and the cup competitions to focus on but Howe will be hoping to avoid the injury crisis his team suffered last season.
GiveMeSport reports that Mitchell is considering an “exciting option” to add another focal point to their attacking line.
The three players mentioned in the report are Pedro Neto of Wolves, Noni Madueke of Chelsea and Leeds United attacker Crysencio Summerville.
All those three players can help the Newcastle attack next season and create a solid partnership with current attacker Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon.
The Magpies are looking for a right-winger this summer as they prepare to Miguel Almiron to potentially leave the club.
Apart from signing a right-winger, another centre-back is also expected to join the club despite the club signing Lloyd Kelly as a free agent.
The long term injuries to Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles have forced the Magpies to enter the market to sign new defenders.
Howe will be hoping to take his team back to the Champions League after finishing in the top four of the Premier League next season.

]]>Tottenham have started their summer transfer business with the signing of Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray.
Ange Postecoglou is set to strengthen his squad again this summer after doing the same last summer and in the January transfer window.
There is an expectation that Spurs will sign attacking players this summer in order to add talent and depth to their squad in the attacking positions.
A wide-attacker seems like their priority this summer and they are keeping an eye on two of Premier League’s most creative players.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are interested in both Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace and Pedro Neto of Wolves.
Romano said on his Playback Live Show that the north London club are interested in Eze and Neto.
“There is appreciation from Spurs for Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace – and also with all of the other options we always mention here like Pedro Neto, this is absolutely confirmed.
“So Tottenham like Eze and like Pedro Neto, and they have decided how much they want to spend in that position. So there is internal conversation, but they will bring in one more player in that position for sure – one more offensive player.”
Since the end of last season, Eze has been linked to a transfer away from Crystal Palace; last summer, Manchester City expressed interest in the England star.
This summer, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal are keeping an eye on the England international.
As for Neto, the winger who managed nine assists and two goals in the Premier League last season, the Portuguese has been a consistent performer for a long time and some of the biggest clubs in England have monitored his progress.
With both the players valued at £60million each, the total transfer fee could reach the £120million mark if Spurs are looking to sign them both.
Having already added Timo Werner to his attack this summer after another loan move for the German player, Postecoglou is looking to add more creativity that can provide his attack the cutting edge in the final third next season.
A move for Eze and Neto both at the same time would be ideal but even if Spurs can manage to sign one of them, they will be happy with their transfer business.

]]>Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is being backed by the club in the summer transfer window after impressing last season.
Postecoglou missed out on Champions League football in the last few weeks of the season after defeats against Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.
However, the football he deployed at the Tottenham Stadium received recognition and was highly praised in the football world.
He is now looking to address the issues facing his squad with a new striker and a wide attacker his priority in the summer transfer window.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are interested in signing the Wolves winger Pedro Neto and they have been in regular contact with his agent.
A deal between the two clubs depends on the fee and it remains to be seen how much Wolves will be demanding for the pacey winger, who has faced injury issues in his career in the Premier League.
Romano told GiveMeSport:
“They are in regular contact with the agent of Pedro Neto. For Pedro Neto, it really depends on the fee. He had many injuries, so Tottenham would be happy to try again for Pedro Neto, but only in normal conditions, not crazy conditions. This is why it also depends on Wolves.”
Along with Tottenham, Newcastle United are also interested in signing the player, who is reportedly valued at £60m by Wolves.
In 20 Premier League matches last season, Neto provided nine assists and scored two goals but his impressive season was affected with fitness issues.
This summer, Spurs will be trying to come to an agreement to sign him for a reasonable transfer fee.
The 24-year-old will provide pace, creativity and inventiveness from the flanks, something that is desperately needed at Spurs.
Along with players like Heung-min Son, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevki, Neto can become a part of a devastating attack at Spurs.

]]>Having already lost Max Kilman to West Ham United, Wolves are reluctant to also sell Pedro Neto. However, according to recent reports, the Midlands giants could entertain offers that meet their asking price.
Neto, 24, has been one of Wolves’ standout performers in recent seasons. The Portugal international, who joined from Lazio five years ago, has spearheaded the team’s attack and seen his stock rise as a result.
Although the 24-year-old has struggled with injuries over the past few seasons, very few can dispute his ability.
Consequently, although the winger still has three years left on his contract, interest in signing him this summer is beginning to mount.
Spurs and Newcastle United are thought to be two interested clubs after the pair missed out on landing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who was unveiled as a new Bayern Munich player earlier this month.
However, it isn’t just Spurs and Newcastle in the running. According to a recent report from HITC, Chelsea have become the latest side to join the race. The Blues’ new manager Enzo Mascara is thought to be a big admirer of Wolves’ number tricky seven.
And although eyebrows may be raised over the Londoners’ plans after already signing Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Willian Estevao and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as well as closing in on completing a deal for Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino, Mascara remains adament he wants to recruit another winger.
Signing Neto won’t be straightforward. Not only are Wolves in a strong negotiating position, their £60 million asking price is likely to force interested clubs into rethinking their transfer strategies.
Likely to use Olise’s £51 million transfer to Bayern as a benchmark, Wolves’ board will almost certainly reject any offers that fall below their current valuation.
Since arriving at Molineux, Neto, who also has 10 senior international caps to his name, has scored 14 goals and registered 24 assists in 135 games in all competitions.

]]>Tottenham are ahead of Newcastle in the race for Wolves star Pedro Neto as he’s attracted by the prospect of Europa League football according to reports.
Spurs are looking to strengthen a squad which missed out on Champions League football last season and have added talented teenager Archie Gray to their ranks from Leeds, whilst they have also extended Timo Werner’s loan move from RB Leipzig.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are known to be looking for more attacking reinforcements and have identified Neto as a target.
Neto has been one of Wolves’ best players over the years, but injury issues limited him to 24 appearances in all competitions last season, and he scored three goals and provided 11 assists.
Wolves know they are likely going to have to sell one or more of their key players this summer, but having sold Max Kilman to West Ham in a deal worth £40m they may not be under as much pressure to part ways with Neto.
The 24-year-old can now fully focus on his future following Portugal’s elimination from Euro 2024 and is attracting interest from Premier League clubs.
GIVEMESPORT report that Spurs have the edge over Newcastle in the race for the Portugal international because they can offer Europa League football, whilst the opportunity to live in London is also thought to be attractive.
The report adds that two other Premier League clubs have been made aware of Neto’s availability and could make a move before the season starts.
GIVEMESPORT state that Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes could look to create a bidding war for his client amongst potential suitors.
Wolves are thought to value the Portuguese at around £60m and it’s likely any opening bid from Tottenham would be below that mark as they look to test the waters.
Spurs are also thought to be interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and it would seem unlikely they would go in for both players, so they will seemingly have a decision to make.

]]>Ange Postecoglu is looking to add a new wide man to his Tottenham side this summer but Spurs will only be able to sign one of their targets as they continue to monitor Premier League duo.
The North London outfit are short on options on the wings and it is an area the Premier League club would like to strengthen to take the pressure off players such as Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are interested in Wolves’ Perdo Neto and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze ahead of the new season, but Spurs would only be able to sign one of the duo.
The report says that the Premier League clubs want around £50-60m for their big stars, which means Tottenham will have to pick which one to pursue over the coming weeks.
Signing either wide man will be difficult for the London outfit as Crystal Palace will try to keep hold of Eze this summer after allowing Michael Olise to depart for Bayern Munich; while Wolves will not make it easy for one of their top-flight rivals to sign their best player.
If Tottenham can only sign one of these players, the best option for Spurs would be Eze given his versatility and the consistency he has shown in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old had a brilliant campaign last time around as he produced 11 goals and four assists across 27 Premier League appearances, which earned him a place in the England squad for Euro 2024.
The Crystal Palace ace would also be a safer bet than Neto as the Portuguese star has a very poor fitness record and is prone to miss large parts of campaigns due to injury issues.
The Wolves winger is a top talent but if Tottenham are to part ways with £60m for either player, Eze would be the better option.

Spurs are looking to strengthen their squad and are after more acquisitions following the arrival of talented teenager Archie Gray from Leeds for £40m.
Gray is Tottenham’s third summer signing following the extension of Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig and the arrival of Lucas Bergvall from Swedish side Djurgardens.
Neto is likely to be a man in demand this summer, but Wolves may not be in a position where they are desperate to sell having banked £40m from West Ham for Max Kilman.
The winger is a quality player, but was hampered by injury issues last season which limited him to 24 appearances in all competitions, and he scored three goals and provided 11 assists.
The 24-year-old is unlikely to be short of suitors this summer and GIVEMESPORT have reported that Spurs have made enquiries in order to find out how difficult it would be to complete a move for the Portugal international.
Following Portugal’s elimination from Euro 2024 Neto will now have time to think about his future, and the report adds there’s a growing feeling Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes will be successful in negotiating a move away from Wolves for his client.
GIVEMESPORT add that Spurs aren’t the only club interested in Neto with Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle also expressing interest in the Portuguese, who Wolves value at £60m.
The reports states that Neto’s injury record is one of the main reasons as to why both Spurs and Arsenal aren’t prepared to meet the price tag and Wolves have already put plans in place to find a replacement.
Tottenham have also been strongly linked with a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with the 26-year-old believed to have a release clause of £60m.
Spurs will certainly need to strengthen their attacking options if they are to get back into the Champions League next season, and the addition of either Neto or Eze would make a big difference.
