Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is attracting interest from the likes of Fulham and Galatasaray, but Erik ten Hag insists United want to keep hold of him.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their squad having finished a disappointing eighth last season and bottom of their Champions League group.

After a slow start to the window there’s been a flurry of activity at Old Trafford with a number of deals being completed, and several more near the finish line.

Ten Hag insists United want to keep McTominay

United have signed striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, whilst teenage centre back Leny Yoro has also arrived from Lille, with the club also believed to working on deals for Manuel Ugarte and Matthijs de Ligt.

Midfield is an area United are looking to strengthen and they are believed to be trying to offload Casemiro, whilst the club won’t be taking up their €20m buy option on Sofyan Amrabat following his loan spell from Fiorentina last season.

United have also been linked with a move for France international Adrien Rabiot who is now a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired.

Ten Hag wants McTominay to remain at Old Trafford this summer.

Question marks have also surrounded the future of Scotland international McTominay who was the subject of interest from West Ham last summer.

The 27-year-old is once again attracting interest this summer with the likes of Tottenham, Fulham and Turkish giants Galatasaray all said to be interested.

However, Ten Hag has come out and insisted United want to keep the midfielder and that he’s a very important part of the squad.

“We have very good players so there will always be an interest from other clubs,” Ten Hag said.

“When you score 10 goals in a season and also perform very good for Scotland, then there will be an interest. But we want to keep him because he is a very important player for our squad.

“What he can contribute, as we saw last season once we had our sixes available, he could play in a more advanced role and he is a highly interesting player for our team.”

McTominay popped up with a number of late and important goals last season for United as he scored ten goals in 43 appearances in all competitions, but he only has one year remaining on his current deal although United have a club option for a further year.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has said he’s expecting more activity in the transfer market following the club’s 5-1 win against Hearts in their first pre-season game on Wednesday evening.

Spurs will be looking to strengthen their squad over the summer having missed out on Champions League football to Aston Villa last season.

The north London club have already signed talented teenager Archie Gray, whilst Timo Werner’s loan has been extended, and young midfielder Lucas Bergvall has also arrived.

Postecoglou expecting more transfer activity

The club got their pre-season preparations off to a perfect start by beating ScottishHearts 5-1 as Postecoglou fielded a strong side with Son Heung-min, James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson and new signing Archie Gray all starting.

Spurs no doubt need to add more reinforcements if they are to stand a chance of getting back into the Champions League next season, and they are believed to be in the market for a striker with Jonathan David and Ivan Toney linked with moves.

Postecoglou was asked after the game about transfers and said he had no doubt there would be a couple more additions before the window closes.

Postecoglou is preparing for his second season at Spurs.

“Like I said, nothing’s really changed, I’m comfortable,” he told reporters.

“We’ve got a strategy in place about what we want to do.

“I’m really happy with the two lads we’ve brought in, both obviously very talented but more importantly really ambitious.

“They’re not here to ease their way in, they want to play and I think that’s great.

“They’ve brought a good energy to the group and no doubt there will be a couple more additions but I’m comfortable with where we’re at.”

Spurs are also looking to sell a number of players before the window closes with the club reportedly open to offers for the likes of Richarlison and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, whilst a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher is still a possibility.

Tottenham are ahead of Newcastle in the race for Wolves star Pedro Neto as he’s attracted by the prospect of Europa League football according to reports.

Spurs are looking to strengthen a squad which missed out on Champions League football last season and have added talented teenager Archie Gray to their ranks from Leeds, whilst they have also extended Timo Werner’s loan move from RB Leipzig.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are known to be looking for more attacking reinforcements and have identified Neto as a target.

Tottenham ahead of Newcastle in the race for Neto

Neto has been one of Wolves’ best players over the years, but injury issues limited him to 24 appearances in all competitions last season, and he scored three goals and provided 11 assists.

Wolves know they are likely going to have to sell one or more of their key players this summer, but having sold Max Kilman to West Ham in a deal worth £40m they may not be under as much pressure to part ways with Neto.

The 24-year-old can now fully focus on his future following Portugal’s elimination from Euro 2024 and is attracting interest from Premier League clubs.

Tottenham and Newcastle are two of the Premier League clubs interested in Neto.

GIVEMESPORT report that Spurs have the edge over Newcastle in the race for the Portugal international because they can offer Europa League football, whilst the opportunity to live in London is also thought to be attractive.

The report adds that two other Premier League clubs have been made aware of Neto’s availability and could make a move before the season starts.

GIVEMESPORT state that Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes could look to create a bidding war for his client amongst potential suitors.

Wolves are thought to value the Portuguese at around £60m and it’s likely any opening bid from Tottenham would be below that mark as they look to test the waters.

Spurs are also thought to be interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and it would seem unlikely they would go in for both players, so they will seemingly have a decision to make.

Tottenham have made fresh enquiries over the possibility of a move for Wolves winger Pedro Neto according to reports.

BUY EURO 2024 TICKETS for ENGLAND vs NETHERLANDS HERE!

Spurs are looking to strengthen their squad and are after more acquisitions following the arrival of talented teenager Archie Gray from Leeds for £40m.

Gray is Tottenham’s third summer signing following the extension of Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig and the arrival of Lucas Bergvall from Swedish side Djurgardens.

Tottenham want to know Wolves’ Neto stance

Neto is likely to be a man in demand this summer, but Wolves may not be in a position where they are desperate to sell having banked £40m from West Ham for Max Kilman.

The winger is a quality player, but was hampered by injury issues last season which limited him to 24 appearances in all competitions, and he scored three goals and provided 11 assists.

The 24-year-old is unlikely to be short of suitors this summer and GIVEMESPORT have reported that Spurs have made enquiries in order to find out how difficult it would be to complete a move for the Portugal international.

Pedro Neto in action for Wolves.
Tottenham are weighing up whether or not to make a move for Neto.

Following Portugal’s elimination from Euro 2024 Neto will now have time to think about his future, and the report adds there’s a growing feeling Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes will be successful in negotiating a move away from Wolves for his client.

GIVEMESPORT add that Spurs aren’t the only club interested in Neto with Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle also expressing interest in the Portuguese, who Wolves value at £60m.

The reports states that Neto’s injury record is one of the main reasons as to why both Spurs and Arsenal aren’t prepared to meet the price tag and Wolves have already put plans in place to find a replacement.

Tottenham have also been strongly linked with a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with the 26-year-old believed to have a release clause of £60m.

Spurs will certainly need to strengthen their attacking options if they are to get back into the Champions League next season, and the addition of either Neto or Eze would make a big difference.

Tottenham are planning to offer two players to Leeds as part of a deal for midfielder Archie Gray according to reports.

Leeds are facing the prospect of having to sell one or two of their key players this summer, having failed to win promotion to the Premier League last season.

Gray, who had a breakthrough season falls into that category along with the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto.

Tottenham could offer players as part of Gray deal

The 18-year-old made 52 appearances in all competitions for Leeds last season, and is one of the brightest talents in Europe.

Gray has been attracting interest from several Premier League clubs and it was reported on Saturday that Brentford had made an offer and a medical had been scheduled but on Sunday it was confirmed that Leeds had rejected that bid.

The Athletic reported that Tottenham are working on a deal to sign Gray, and talks are ongoing with an expectation that a deal can be reached even though nothing has been finalised yet, but the player’s preference is believed to be a move to north London.

Archie Gray in action for Leeds.
Spurs are hoping to complete a move for Gray.

Leeds need to raise funds before Sunday’s profit and sustainability deadline and it appears Gray could be sacrificed so they don’t breach the rules.

The Times have reported that Spurs could use a player as part of the deal with two players under consideration to be a makeweight in the deal.

The report adds one of those players is Joe Rodon, who spent last season on loan at Elland Road where he made more than 50 appearances.

Rodon is under contract at Spurs until 2026, but is expected to leave this summer as he clearly isn’t part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

The Times add that the other player who could be used is Oliver Skipp, who has played under current Leeds manager Daniel Farke at Norwich.

However, it’s claimed there ae reservations about using Skipp, who came through the academy as part of the deal due to Spurs being back in Europe and needing to have a certain amount of homegrown players.

Jamie Redknapp has insisted there’s no way Tottenham’s players will throw in the towel against Manchester City to stop rivals Arsenal winning the Premier League.

Tottenham are going through a difficult spell right now, and have lost their last four Premier League games in a row conceding 13 goals in the process.

Spurs can have a massive say in the title race when they welcome Manchester City to north London on May 14th.

Redknapp adamant Spurs won’t throw the towel in against City

City are currently on course to become the first team in history to win four Premier League titles in a row, and will do that if they win their last three games.

Tottenham’s arch rivals Arsenal currently sit top of the league by one point having played a game more than their rivals, and will need to win their last two games, and hope City slip up if they are to win a first league title in 20 years.

Redknapp insists there’s no way Spurs will throw the towel in against Manchester City.

There have been claims in some quarters that Spurs might throw in the towel against City if it stops Arsenal winning  the league, and former Tottenham player Redknapp has shared his thoughts on those claims.

“When people talk about, are they not going to try, they are not going to hand the title to Arsenal, you can’t do that as a player, it is just impossible”, he told talkSPORT.

“Fans might think it can happen, but there is no way.

“You are going to be live on Sky, you want to perform, you want to show your best.

“What are you going to do? You’re not going to go into a tackle? Is the goalkeeper not going to want to save a shot? That’s not how it works in football.”

Postecoglou will be desperate to see a reaction from his players over the final three games of the season to ensure they finish as high as possible in the table, with many fighting for their futures at the club.

Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0 on Thursday night to move up to eighth in the Premier League, just three points behind Manchester United in sixth.

The Blues headed into the game at Stamford Bridge with 14 players missing through injury, but the players who were available put in a brilliant performance.

Trevoh Chalobah gave the Blues the lead as he headed home Conor Gallagher’s free kick, with Nicolas Jackson heading in Chelsea’s second after Cole Palmer’s brilliant free kick struck the crossbar.

The win means Mauricio Pochettino has now done the double over Spurs this season, and has put a dent in their hopes of finishing in the top four, with Ange Postecoglou’s side seven points behind Aston Villa, with a game in hand.

Speaking after the game Redknapp was really impressed with how Chelsea performed, stating the players stepped up and wanted it more than Spurs did.

Tottenham are keen to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson, but a deal will be difficult according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs have been linked with a number of midfielders ahead of the summer window and it’s clearly a position Ange Postecoglou will target with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg expected to leave.

Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo and Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are reportedly among the names Spurs are said to be interested in.

Ederson to join Spurs this summer?

Ederson has been a key player for Atalanta although they do risk losing the 24-year-old this summer with Italian journalist Daniele Longo reporting Spurs have already held discussions over a potential move with the player.

The defensive midfielder has been in great form this season and has helped Atalanta reach the Europa League quarter finals, where they are potentially 90 minutes away from knocking out Liverpool.

Spurs are interested in signing Ederson this summer.

Ederson has scored six goals and provided one assist in Serie A this campaign, which is an improvement on last season where he only scored once in 35 appearances.

Romano has revealed it will be very difficult for Spurs to sign Ederson this summer due to the situation at Atalanta with their midfielders.

The Italian outfit are expected to lose Ederson’s midfield partner Teun Koopmeiners who has reportedly been linked with Juventus and Liverpool.

Atalanta will not want to lose two of their first choice midfielders in the same window and this complicates the situation for Spurs.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT: “Ederson is going to be very, very difficult because Atalanta are already expected to sell Teun Koopmeiners in the midfield, and Koopmeiners and Ederson are the two starters for Atalanta.

“So to sell two crucial players in the same position, in the same summer, I think it’s very unlikely.

“So there is an appreciation, it’s true, that Tottenham appreciate the player, as do many other clubs around Europe. For example, it is the same for Barcelona and other clubs in England. But at the moment, I think it’s going to be difficult to sign the player from Atalanta.”

Bryan Gil could leave Tottenham this summer with surprise interest coming from Dutch side Feyenoord.

The 23-year-old arrived in north London in the 2021 summer window from Spanish side Seville, with Spurs paying £21.6m and allowing Erik Lamela to move the other way as part of the deal.

Gil had a reputation as one of the brightest prospects in Spanish football at the time and it appeared Daniel Levy may have pulled off a shrewd move.

Bryan Gil set to leave Tottenham this summer?

The Spanish international has struggled to make an impact at Spurs and has only made 42 appearances across all competitions since joining.

Gil has been loaned out twice, first to Valencia and then back to Seville before being given an opportunity to try and nail down a starting spot under Ange Postecoglou.

Gil has been linked with a surprise summer move to Dutch side Feyenoord.

Unfortunately , the former Seville man struggled to nail down a regular place and has fallen behind Heung-min Son, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski in the pecking order.

Gil has only made 11 appearances this season, of which just two were starts and plunged further down the pecking order when Timo Werner arrived on loan in January.

Spurs have an option to make Werner’s move permanent this summer and Team Talk have reported that Levy made it clear to Gil he was free to leave on a permanent basis, with the north London club likely to take a heavy loss on the Spaniard.

The Netherlands a surprise destination?

Dutch outlet 1908.nl claim that talks are already underway between Gil and Feyenoord with a move to the Eredivisie now viewed as most likely for the former Seville man.

The reports adds that the Dutch side have already opened contact with Gil’s agent, with it being reported the Rotterdam outfit think very highly of the forward, and have presented a concrete proposal to his agent.

Gil is under contract until 2026 and Spurs will want to recoup as much money as possible, but it is claimed that a cut price deal of between £5m and £8.5m would be enough to get the deal done.

Inside Spain is a weekly instalment brought to you by Football España, providing an insight into all of the major stories coming out of the rich and intense climes of La Liga and beyond.

This week was full of good news for Spanish football, as their Champions League sides won twice and Real Madrid drew with Manchester City. The weekend was entirely focused on Athletic Club ending a 40-year major trophy drought with a win on penalties on against Real Mallorca.

If the Premier League sides were not tuned into the Copa final, which finished at about 12:45am local time, then several were paying attention to the post-game. Athletic star Nico Williams has confirmed his status as not only one of Spain’s best players, but one of the best in Europe currently.

Barcelona would very much like to have the money to activate his €50m release clause, but Aston Villa, Liverpool, Arsenal and most recently Tottenham Hotspur must have grimaced when Williams said he had ‘many years left’ in Bilbao. The Athletic squad then took to the streets on Tuesday night for a spontaneous party with fans, in some of the best scenes in years in the Basque capital.

The final was held in Seville, where Sevilla are having a significantly less fun time of things. Sporting Director Victor Orta is reportedly not planning to spend more than €4m on any player this summer, while Sergio Ramos is having doubts about whether to renew his deal this summer.

His former side Real Madrid felt as if they had missed an opportunity against Manchester City this week, having had several good opportunities while a goal up at the Santiago Bernabeu. Without Aurelien Tchouameni, they are likely to be using Eder MIlitao at centre-back in what will be at maximum just his third appearance since August.

Barcelona were euphoric after their victory over Paris Saint-Germain in midweek. Raphinha said after his brace that he wanted to fulfil the remaining three years of his deal, a statement that no doubt brought the hierarchy at Barcelona down a little. He is one of the prime candidates to be sold at decent price this summer, with reported interest from Chelsea, Spurs and Saudi Arabia, but they will have to persuade him to exit first.

If nothing else, you have to applaud Barcelona’s persistence as they reportedly plot a move for Bernardo Silva again this summer. Given he is now approaching his thirties, the Blaugrana believe that with a special structure Manchester City could be open to a deal that suits their need to push the money down the line a bit.

Atletico Madrid looked as if they were on for a uncharacteristically routine win over Borussia Dortmund, but then remembered their identity this season, and conceded to Sebastian Haller with less than 10 minutes to go – Dortmund woul hit the bar twice before the end of the match too. The highlight of the match was obviously Diego Simeone squaring up to Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl though.
