Robinho – Manchester City
The Brazilian forward, like many of his international team-mates, is exceptionally gifted on the ball. The Citizens paid £33m to secure his signature from Real Madrid, and he looked to have been worth the investment in his first season at the Etihad. The 31-year-old scored 14 goals during his debut campaign, but failed to adapt to the intensity of the Premier League.
Michu – Swansea City
The Spanish striker was a revelation at the Liberty Stadium, and looked to be one of the great transfer steals with the Swans clinching a deal for just £2m. Michu scored 18 goals in his first season in England’s top flight. The 29-year-old, however, has struggled with injuries over the past two campaigns, limiting his playing time and form tremendously. The Spaniard agreed a season-long deal with Napoli last summer, but made just two starts for the Serie A side.
