According to Football Insider, Manchester City have decided to sell midfielder Jack Grealish.
The report has mentioned that the Premier League champions are concerned about his partying habits and now they have decided to part ways with the former Aston Villa midfielder.
The midfielder was signed from Aston Villa three years ago in a club record move of £100million.
Since then, he has performed in patches for the club but it is widely believed that Grealish has been unable to fulfill his potential at the Etihad Stadium.
After the signing of Jeremy Doku last summer, the English midfielder was a bit part player in 2023-24.
With every passing season, the midfielder’s value for Pep Guardiola’s team is decreasing as the player has been unable to make a huge impact while his teammates have taken their game to the next level.
The Premier League champions are hoping to recoup a large part of the £100million they paid to sign him three years ago.
Despite winning the Champions League and Premier League titles during his time at the Etihad Stadium, there are concerns over Grealish and his excessive partying habits.
Whenever Man City win a trophy, Grealish can be seen enjoying his life and partying with media outlets covering all his activities.
Doku has taken Grealish’s place at Man City
Grealish still has three years left on his current deal at Man City and the report has mentioned that Aston Villa would love to have him back at the club if the Premier League giants make him available for sale.
In Man City’s treble winning season, Grealish showed his importance and started most of the matches that season but after that, his form has declined and Doku has shown the team what he can offer from the left side of the attack.
The former Aston Villa midfielder was a regular in the England setup under Gareth Southgate and losing his place in the team for the Euros this summer should be a huge wake up call for him.
This strikes me as being speculation without foundation.
Jeremy Doku is a singular talent with great potential but still with a great deal to learn and polish.
In terms of Pep’s possession based philosophy, Doku does not replace the contribution of an in-form, fit Jack Grealish.
I may be wrong in thinking that your article came from the brain cells marked , ‘if’, ‘but’ and ‘maybe’, or some fairly basic AI technology, but you get nil points from me unless you provide a credible source.
How long has he got on his current deal? City pain £100 million for him and will probably love a vast amount of money if he hasn’t signed a new contract
If you read the article properly it tells you 3yrs left on his current deal. Its not hidden.
What you have to remember is he will be 31 at the end of his contract so being 28 already that £100m is probably £50-60m at most. Another year takes £20m off that and his wages must be massive too.
Send him to Saudi. He won’t be able to party there! 😂
The blokes a prat and is totally overated only good enough for playing for a foul , Graham Souness was right about him hangs on to the ball for too long looking for the foul ,
