Ever since Darren Moore left Sheffield Wednesday, things have gone from bad to worse.

Per Sky Sports, the former manager had a difference of opinion in terms of transfer targets with owner, Dejphon Chansiri.

Moore had improbably got the Owls promoted to the Championship after one of the most stunning Play-Off semi-final comebacks in history.

Wednesday had lost 4-0 to Peterborough in the first leg, but managed to score their fourth of the second leg in the 98th minute, sending the match into extra time.

Both teams scored once each, meaning the game ended 5-5 on aggregate and went to a penalty shoot out which Wednesday won.

Everything was set up then for the Owls to go on and make their way up the Championship table, but the disagreement between Moore and Chansiri meant that Xisco Munoz was installed as the new manager ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

After 10 matches of the season he still hadn’t won a game, and that was evidently enough to see him sacked, per BBC Sport.

At the time of writing their record this season is played 10, won none, drawn two and lost eight. They are rock bottom of the table and are already seven points from safety.

It’s difficult to see how they survive from this position, not because of the points tally but because of everything going on at the club that is taking focus away from getting performances on the pitch.

Crystal Palace youngster Kian Flanagan has been on trial at Doncaster Rovers as he could earn himself a switch further down the line, according to boss Darren Moore.

As we previously reported, Flanagan hit out at Palace last month as he believed that the club was holding back his development by not allowing him to go out on loan rather than continue to play for the U23s side.

Given he’s the reigning U23 Player of the Year, that would suggest that he’s done all he can at that level and so the 20-year-old either needs the step up to senior level or a move elsewhere to gain experience and crucial playing time to further his qualities.

In a bid to do that, it seems as though he has been busy trying to impress Doncaster this past week, and Moore was keen to leave the door open to a possible move in the future, be it a loan or permanent swoop for the talented youngster.

“He’s a good player, a very very good player. We’ve been pleased to have him here and train with us,” he is quoted as saying by BBC Radio Sheffield.

“You look at these players because not all the development players, even though they’re good, there is a change from that level into first-team (football) and the front line.

“Kian is one of them we’ve identified. We’ve had a closer look at him and he’s had a good week. I hope he’s enjoyed the week training here. We’ve certainly enjoyed having him. He’s had a good look at us, we’ve had a good look at him.

“And we’ll see (what happens) later on down the line, in the season, because as you know in this industry things change very, very quickly.”

“Possible, possible. It’s a possible [long-term move in January]. But it’s not a guarantee. For me to say yes now would be wrong. Again, it’s an opportunity to look at him and that’s as far as it goes.”

West Brom suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Leeds United on Friday, but one fan took things a bit too far at Elland Road in their Championship clash.

It was a damaging loss for the Baggies in terms of their hopes of automatic promotion back to the Premier League, as they sit six points adrift of second-placed Norwich City who also have a game in hand.

As for Leeds, their win moved them back to the top of the Championship table, but as seen in the video below, one fan couldn’t contain his delight.

After giving the stewards the runaround on the pitch, he made his way towards the dug out and Moore decided that it was time to step in and hold onto the fan in question to allow the stewards to catch up and take him away.

Naturally, some will find his antics hilarious, especially when the stewards make such a mess of trying to catch him. You’d think they’d have some sort of training for this kind of thing…
