Just a few days before the finale, Jiya Shankar was evicted from Bigg Boss OTT 2. The actor, however, is not upset and said she’s grateful for the journey and the amount of love that’s coming her way. Jiya was nominated along with Manisha Rani and Elvish Yadav in the last nomination task. Calling it destiny, she told indianexpress.com, “The way the nomination happened was all about luck. I think it was in Pooja Bhatt and Bebika Dhurve’s destiny that they made it to the finals. However, it was an amazing journey for me.”

Jiya said that the show gave her much more than she expected. “It was a roller coaster ride for me. I think I was the one who was mentally challenged at every step. It was a journey full of ups and downs and I reached where I deserved to be.” However, many feel that she did not contribute to the show and was quite invisible in the game. When asked about the same, she quickly replied, “I think they should watch the show once again. I don’t know which version of Bigg Boss they watched. I had an amazing journey and contributed so much to the game and this is why I was in the top 6.”

Having watched the footage from the show, Jiya Shankar said that she was the ‘talk of the house’. The actor added that everyone was continuously discussing her, especially Manisha and Bebika. “They were obsessed with me and so jealous,” she said, adding that Manisha got all the move envious after she befriended Abhishek Malhan. As readers would know, Jiya and Abhishek’s chemistry was much loved and they even got the nickname ‘Abhiya’ by fans.

Talking about her bond with him, the actor said that she hopes they stay in touch after the show. “There were so many people trying to instigate him against me. He did speak badly about me but I would give him the benefit of doubt because he even stood up for me on many occasions. My perspective towards him hasn’t changed at all. I just hope he thinks fir homself and does not get manipulated by others. I have always been a good friend to him and I hope he can see that. He is a special person and let’s see how the bond goes from here.”

Jiya Shankar’s other strong bond in the house was with Jad Hadid. Towards the end though, the relationship soured as Jad felt Jiya betrayed him. He also called her a snake, which seems to have hurt her. The actor shared that she now regrets spending so much time with Jad. “I think I should have given that time to Abhishek. But since Manisha was always around him, I did not get that space. I honestly do not even want to see Jad’s face again. I do wish him well but he should grow up and understand a lot of things. He should know that we were in a competition and we had to play games. He gossiped about me, called me names and even twisted my words to portray me in a negative light. I hope he watches the show and realises his mistake but I have nothing to do with him anymore.”

She also called out Avinash Sachdev for accusing her of being a bad friend. As per the actor, everyone had to give their best to win the show, and she was no less. As for him, Jiya laughed that at least she did not waste the production’s money as much as him. The actor said that she’s realised that you cannot ‘make a bond’ in life and it should happen organically. She said that her experience has made her stronger and she knows she’ll fare far better in life now.

When asked if she wants to now take up Bigg Boss 17, Jiya smiled that it’s too soon to comment on that. “I haven’t really gotten time to think about it. If everything falls in place, maybe, I don’t know yet,” she said. And what about her pick as the Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner? “Of course, Abhishek. But I also found Elvish, a man with a pure heart. He is also a down-to-earth person and I got to know him better towards the end of my journey. I hope one among them wins.”
