Leeds United right-back Cody Drameh is set to leave the club to join Hull City.

The 22-year-old right-back is scheduled to have a medical at Hull City on Tuesday before finalising his transfer, as stated by Hull Daily Mail and cited by The Shields Gazette.

It was generally anticipated that Drameh, whose contract expires in June, would depart Leeds after spending the previous season on loan at Birmingham City.

After losing both Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene in the early part of the transfer window, the Tigers haven’t had the best transfer window.

Although the Tigers will gain from Ryan Giles’s permanent arrival, there is still much work to be done in order to replace the important individuals who have gone.

After Ryan Giles, Drameh will be City’s second summer addition, coming to bolster the caliber and depth of the team’s defensive line up.

Hull have defeated other Championship teams in order to complete a deal for Drameh.

It was also believed that teams from other European leagues were interested in the player, who was negotiating a new contract at Elland Road.

Drameh played 30 games and contributed four assists while on loan at Birmingham City during the previous season.

Leeds United have extended a new contract offer to Cody Drameh, despite the near certainty that the 22-year-old will leave Elland Road, per Yorkshire Evening Post.

Drameh, who joined the Whites from Fulham in August 2020 for a fee believed to be around £350,000, spent last season on loan at Birmingham City, where he made 30 appearances across all competitions. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to prevent Birmingham’s relegation to League One on the final day of the season.

Since his arrival at Leeds, Drameh has only managed to make 10 first-team appearances, struggling to break into the squad. His stint at Elland Road began promisingly, with a strong start in the Under-21 team, but he has found first-team opportunities limited. Last season, under manager Daniel Farke, Drameh played a mere 21 minutes of Championship football before being loaned out to Birmingham in September.

Leeds United have offered a new deal to Cody Drameh; The Whites will be owed compensation if he agrees deal with another team
Cody Drameh has been offered a new contract by Leeds United despite being deemed surplus to requirements.

Why Leeds United are offering a new contract to Cody Drameh

In addition to Drameh, Leeds have offered new deals to three other players: Harry Christy, Joseph Snowdon, and Luca Thomas. This decision, particularly in Drameh’s case, appears to be motivated by financial considerations. As Drameh is under the age of 24, Leeds United stand to receive compensation from any club that signs him this summer. Typically, clubs negotiate a fee for such players, but if an agreement cannot be reached, the matter could be resolved by a tribunal.

While it seems improbable that Drameh’s future lies at Elland Road, the new contract offer ensures that Leeds will be in a position to secure some financial return from his departure. This move highlights the club’s strategic approach to managing player assets, ensuring they receive due compensation for their young talents even as they transition to new opportunities elsewhere.

Leeds United squad is set to go through a major overhaul in the summer.

After failing to qualify for the Premier League, the Whites will be making a number of changes to their squad.

Their players are attracting the attention of some of the biggest Premier League clubs.

Meanwhile, the underperforming players are set to be offloaded by the club as Daniel Farke prepares for another attempt to get promoted to the top flight of England.

Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Wilfried Gnonto have all been linked with a move away from Elland Road.

However, according to Leeds Live, three players are set to leave the club and they have played for the last time for Farke’s team.

Manchester City academy product Ian Poveda has played for the last time for Leeds United, as per the report.

He failed to impress during his stint at Elland Road and he has no future at the club.

After joining the club as a free agent, the player has failed to make his mark in the Championship.

Lewis Bate Leeds United Championship
A number of players are expected to be shown the exit door at Leeds United.

Secondly, defender Cody Drameh, who spent the season on loan at Birmingham City, will be shown the exit door by Farke.

He has found it difficult to deliver the early promise he showed in his career and now his future lies away from the Championship club.

Leeds United are set to make big changes

Poveda and Drameh are out of contract in the summer and they have no future at the club.

Lastly, Lewis Bate has failed to break into the Leeds United team and he will be let go by the club in the summer.

The former Chelsea player has played his last game for the Whites already and he would be a part of the group of players that are set to be offloaded.

Leeds United are set to release Cody Drameh this summer as his contract is about to expire at the Championship club.

The right wing-back will be released by Leeds United at the end of the next month, at which point he will be available for free.

During his season-long loan with Birmingham City, he was unable to stop the Midlands team’s relegation to League One.

Leeds are expected to experience a busy summer transfer window as several incomings and outgoings are lined up already.

The 22-year-old Drameh made 30 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, 28 of which were in the league, but he received limited playing time at St Andrew’s under Gary Rowett

Over the next several months, he will need to make a significant choice on his future.

According to Yorkshire Evening Post, the Whites will not be offering a new contract to the player.

Daniel Farke’s team is involved in the Championship play-offs as they face Norwich City in the semifinal.

After losing out to Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League, Leeds will have to contest the play-offs.

Cody Drameh is set to leave Leeds United at the end of the season.

West Brom and Southampton take part in the other semifinal which means the Whites have a lot of work to do to make it to the Premier League again.

After leaving Fulham in 2020, Drameh joined Leeds United and has since appeared in ten first-team games for the Yorkshire club.

When Cardiff City made an offer in 2021, he was given the go-ahead to go out on loan for the first time.

Leeds player has gone out on loan more than once

He played 22 games for the Bluebirds to advance his career before returning to his parent club.

After joining Luton Town in January 2022, the former England youth international assisted Rob Edwards’ team as they were promoted to the Premier League.

Then came the Birmingham City adventure for the player but his time at St. Andrews ended up being a failure as the club was relegated to the third tier of English football.

Drameh still has a long way to go as he is young and there is room for improvement in many aspects of his game.

Many players are expected to leave Leeds United this summer and a new name amongst them is Cody Drameh as the defender will not be offered a new deal at Elland Road.

The Yorkshire club are on course to return to the Premier League at the first attempt as Daniel Farke’s team are in incredible form and went top of the Championship at the weekend.

Should they play in the English top flight during the 2024/25 campaign, the players Leeds currently have on loan will likely be sold or let go to build up their transfer budget.

Stars such as Ian Poveda, Sam Greenwood, Jack Harrison and Brenden Aaronson are all expected to leave but Football Insider have reported that Drameh will join that list, amongst others.

According to Pete O’Rourke, the 22-year-old is set to leave Elland Road this summer as sources have told the outlet that the defender “is not set to receive a Leeds United contract extension and has played his last game for the club.”

Drameh is currently on loan at Birmingham City and the Championship club have the option to make his deal permanent. However, Leeds would be due a compensation fee as a result of the Englishman’s age.

The defender was never able to tie down an important role at Leeds and having spent a lot of time out on loan, a permanent move would help develop him further as he can stay in one place for more than one season.

In three days time all of the transfer window drama will be over for another few months at least, and that will surely come as a relief to Leeds United manager, Daniel Farke.

The German has overseen tremendous change in the short space of time that he’s been in charge of the first-team, and that has also shown itself in results.

In the space of a few days in the past week, Leeds have beaten a brilliant Ipswich Town side by the odd goal in seven, and lost on penalties in the Carabao Cup to lowly Salford.

The topsy turvy nature of what’s happening on the pitch is mirrored by the goings on off it, and that the Elland Road outfit are still happy for players to leave at this late stage says it all.

According to Fabrizio Romano, writing in his CaughtOffside Substack, Leeds will allow Cody Drameh to move either on loan or permanently.

That’s because the player has refused to accept a new deal, and the all whites are signing Djed Spence on loan from Spurs in his position.

It means yet more upheaval for Farke, though at least he has some light at the end of the tunnel now.

He can finally look to put together a settled starting XI, injuries notwithstanding, which will hopefully ensure that a reasonable run of results follows.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke and captain Luke Ayling were left visibly unhappy with defender Cody Drameh last weekend.

Playing against Ipswich Town, the Whites narrowly came out on top after securing a dramatic 4-3 victory.

And according to recent reports, despite the team’s exciting victory, one player who disappointed his manager and captain was Cody Drameh.

The young defender was substituted on in place of an injured Sam Byram in the game’s first half, but Farke was clearly unhappy with the 21-year-old shortly after his introduction. Ayling was also furious with his teammate for his poor decision-making.

Consequently, despite coming on in the first half, Drameh failed to stay on the pitch after the halftime break, and a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post claims Farke was left angry with the defender for a poor pass that ultimately led to Ipswich’s second goal of the game.

Speaking after the match, Farke cooled any speculation surrounding his relationship with the 21-year-old and said: “It was difficult for him to come into such a game to such a hectic game and I won’t blame him at all.

“Obviously, he was involved in the second goal and two or three times Burns was in his back and but it was my decision also to let him play that, so if someone wants to blame someone then definitely not Cody because he’s brilliant.”

It’s a race against time for West Ham and their Premier League rivals to get any transfer deals over the line given that there’s just over a week left before the window closes until January.

Any early season injuries can at least be covered by late window purchases, and similarly, if a manager sees something that he doesn’t like or wants changing after the opening few games, the closing of the window three weeks after the beginning of the campaign affords them that opportunity.

It isn’t clear just how many more purchases David Moyes is going to make before next Friday, but what is almost certain is that the Hammers will be one of the more active clubs in the market.

Having not signed any players until the week before the 2023/24 season began, the east Londoners have been playing catch up ever since.

To date, only three players have signed on at the London Stadium during the current window; Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

According to The Athletic (subscription required), Leeds United star, Cody Drameh, could be of interest to the club, however, both Crystal Palace and Brentford are also credited with keeping an eye on him.

Leeds manager, Daniel Farke, has already had enough upheaval to deal with since taking over at Elland Road, and perhaps he more than anyone will be overjoyed once the window closes.

Leeds United defender Cody Drameh is reportedly keen to leave Elland Road in this summer’s transfer window.

The youngster has struggled for playing time in the Leeds first-team and has had to go out on loan in order to play first-team football.

Burnley are now among the clubs interested in Drameh, which could offer him a tempting opportunity to play in the Premier League next season, and it seems he’s desperate for his current club to let him go.

Leeds, meanwhile, could be signing Sam Byram this summer, meaning even more competition for Drameh to contend with in Daniel Farke’s squad.

LUFC fans will hope this situation can be resolved soon, but it’s worrying quite how much one of their top young players seems to want out of the club.

Leeds United defender Cody Drameh could reportedly end up deciding to stay at the club after all.

Various reports now state that the 21-year-old has made a surprise U-turn on his future after it previously looked like he would choose to move on this summer.

Drameh is a highly rated prospect at Elland Road, and performed well on loan at Luton Town in the Championship this season, helping them win promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds, meanwhile, went down, so might be at risk of losing some key players, though it seems Drameh is now prepared to stick it out with the Yorkshire outfit for a bit longer.

It could hinge on how pre-season pans out for Drameh, but he’d supposedly be ready to stay if he feels optimistic he’ll be given the chance to play.
