Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga would be open to a move away from the club at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old’s agent has confirmed that they are still waiting to assess his future at the north London club but the opportunity to join clubs like Napoli would be quite attractive. The versatile defender has been linked with the Italian club in recent weeks.
“I don’t really like talking about one of my clients,” he told Calcio Napoli 24 Live.
“He has a particular contract with Tottenham, who can exercise the option for another year, otherwise he will be free. We should wait for a date to see what happens.
“How can you not consider Napoli? The player was close to Milan a year and a half ago. Naples is a top club on a national and international level. Should there be any interest we would be happy.”
Napoli managed to win the Italian league title last season and Tanganga would be delighted to join a big club like Napoli. The defender does not have a future at Tottenham and he needs to join a club where he will get ample game time. If Napoli can provide him with that assurance, it would be an exceptional opportunity for him.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can secure an agreement soon.
The defender is currently on loan at the Championship club Millwall and he has done quite well for them so far. He was on loan at Augsburg during the first half of the season.
