Liverpool trio Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch were reportedly not at all happy to learn of Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave the club at the end of this season.
The German tactician recently announced he’d be stepping down as Reds boss this summer, ending a long and successful spell in charge at Anfield.
Many fans will have been surprised by this news, and it seems some of Liverpool’s own players were shocked and not too pleased with how the whole saga was handled, according to a report from Football Transfers.
Liverpool fans will surely be concerned by this update, with Klopp’s future perhaps unsettling the squad ahead of what will surely be a hugely important end to the season.
Klopp decision won’t impact Liverpool stars’ long-term futures
Even if new signings like Szoboszlai and Gravenberch could be forgiven for not being too pleased that the manager they signed up to play for on long-term contracts is now moving on, Football Transfers do stress that it’s not expected to have an impact on their futures at the club.
LFC will need to keep this squad together and strengthen it once Klopp goes, so they could do without the added upheaval that would come from their best players leaving along with the manager.
It won’t be easy to replace a legendary figure like Klopp, who has enjoyed so much success during his Liverpool reign, but the next manager will at least be inheriting a very strong squad of players, with Nunez, Szoboszlai and Gravenberch certainly looking like they could be key figures in the team for many years to come.
Nunez joined the Reds from Benfica last season, while Szoboszlai and Gravenberch are new to the club this season, joining from RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich, respectively, while Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo also joined in a major midfield rebuild.
