Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Sunday announced that a Sangrur-based girl stranded in Malaysia will be back home soon.
In a statement, the CM said that Gurvinder Kaur from Adakwas village, Sangrur, is stuck in Malaysia since long.
He said that the girl had gone to Malaysia in search of greener pastures but had landed in trouble after her travel agent duped her. Her family had been running pillar to post for her return from the South Asian country.
Mann said that when the matter came into his notice he took up the issue with the Government of India.
The CM said due to efforts of the Punjab government, the Centre has raised the issue with the Malaysian government. Her contact with the Indian embassy has been established. After all formalities and paperwork, Mann said that the way for her return will be paved.
