As part of a lecture series titled ‘Life, Science and Everything’, the former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and noted scientist Dr Shekhar Mande spoke about a survey on Saturday about human extinction, among other matters.
Mande said that domain experts have predicted artificial intelligence as the first cause of human extinction, followed by nuclear war between nations, and then viruses like Sars Cov and others.
As part of the lecture series Mande introduced many interesting concepts at a lecture organised by Persistent University in Aryabhatta Pingala, Erandwane in Pune.
Dr Mande also spoke about evidence that the moon was formed from the earth, and about different theories about where living forms come from, as well as the big five mass extinctions in human history.
The ten part lecture series began on August 5 and will run till October 7, every Saturday.
