— The objective of setting the foundations for a new global financing architecture beyond the Bretton Woods system to address climate change, biodiversity crisis and development challenges. Hence, statement 2 is  correct.

— As an official partner of the Summit, UNESCO co-organised two official events on the financing of Education and Global public goods, an affiliated event on youth innovation, and hosted 10 official panel discussions at UNESCO headquarters. Hence, statement 3 is correct.

— The ICC, headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands.

— It “investigates and, where warranted, tries individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression.” Hence, statement 3 is correct.

— Presently, 123 countries are party to the Rome Statute, including Britain, Japan, Afghanistan, and Germany. However, the USA has kept its distance, maintaining that ICC should not exercise jurisdiction over citizens of countries that are not a party to it. Similarly, India and China have also abstained from membership. Hence, statement 2 is not correct.

Therefore, option (b) is the correct answer.

5. (a)

FYI:

— As the Fuego volcano erupted, pouring thick clouds of ash over adjacent towns and fields, Guatemalan officials evacuated over a thousand people and blocked a route.

— One of Central America’s most active volcanos, the conical Volcan de Fuego reaches an altitude of 12,346 feet (3,763 meters) above sea level at its peak.

Therefore, option (a) is the correct answer.
