Actor Ankita Lokhande’s father Shashikant Lokhande died on Saturday at the age of 68. The funeral was held on Sunday at the Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai. Ankita was seen carrying her father’s remains along with husband Vicky Jain as they paid their last tribute to him. Ankita’s friends, actors Shraddha Arya, Kushal Tandon, Nandish Sandhu, Arti Singh, Aparna Dixit and Omkar Kapoor were also seen at the funeral to pay their condolence to the family.
In the video shared by a paparazzo account, the actor is seen holding one side of the pyre carrying her father’s body. As they walk ahead, Ankita breaks down and is calmed by her husband Vicky, who was standing behind her. In another video, the Pavitra Rishta actor walks out of the funeral and immediately looks out for her mother. She grabs her hand comforting her as they head back towards their car.

While the family is yet to make a statement, reports suggest that her father was not keeping well for some time. Earlier this year in June, while wishing him Father’s Day, Ankita had hinted that her father was ‘struggling with his health’. Sharing photos with him, she wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to my first hero my daddy. I can’t express my true feelings what I feel for you, but I love you bahut sara.. I have seen you struggling for many things, when I was a child but you made sure that your children don’t… You always gave me my wings to fly and made me do whatever I wanted to .. I’m what I’m it’s all your support and strength… I remember when I started my journey in Mumbai and sometimes when I had no rent to pay, you made it happen no matter what was going on in your life because you believed in my dreams… I am and I will be always grateful and blessed to have you paa. I have seen you struggling with your health but your strong will… what I saw that time was something else and your smiling face during that period kept all of us going. I’m very very proud to be your daughter.. love you paa forever and ever and ever. Happy Father’s Day paa.”
On the work front, the actor was last seen in ZEE5 web show Pavitra Rishta 2 opposite Shaheer Sheikh.
